We were told electricity had just come on and only cold food was being served around town, but saw people eating warm food on the streets. Then, we ordered and the server was discourteous, arrogant, and offered terrible service. The food ordered was delivered with the wrong cheese and various other mix-ups. Food was served with bagged chips instead of fries, and was definitely sub-par for even an average diner. I would not go again, nor recommend anyone to the diner.

Didn't read these reviews before having lunch in this historic former brothel. Glad because I wouldn't have gotten a chance to learn the history behind it. These are OLD buildings trying to find new life. The woman dressed in period garb inviting you in sold us. I had a simple hot dog broiled to perfection and not a skinny weeny either! Hubby had the roast beef sandwich which was fine as was the club sandwich and chili dog had by others in our party. We had a great tiime and if you're not expecting the Ritz then this is the place to be.

We stopped in during a rainstorm as the train was pulling in. This place supports the stereotype that the worst restaurants are right next to the tourist attraction since people are lazy and will not bother to walk a few blocks to better alternatives and the restaurant does not really need to worry about return-business. Interior is shabby and trying hard to look like someone cares. Food is obviously sitting ready on counters in the back for the arrival of the train and thus, the bottom of every sandwich was soggy and gross. Skip it and walk a few blocks to something better.

This restaurant is only remarkable in how underwhelming it was... I think they are taking advantage of their location right off the train by not offering quality food to its customers. The service was OK from what I remember, but the food was unseasoned and not worth whatever we paid. I think the kitchen's idea for lunch was, "Let's throw a piece of bread on a plate, warm up some meat and call it 'lunch!'"

If you want a below-average restaurant, the Shady Lady is for YOU!
