La Quinta Inn & Suites Silverthorne - Summit Co

I have stayed in Silverthorne before while snowboarding the year before and I really enjoyed the La Quinta. I am from Houston so we don't like to go out any more than needed at night. Old Chicago had GREAT pizza (the service is horrible), great T.V.'s in the bar area and the hotel had breakfast. Our room was clean. The beds are VERY uncomfortable but as to be expected. The heat worked great in the room. We had no outside noise on both nights. Very close to Copper Mountain. We had a large flat screen T.V. in our room and the remote didn't work unless you were standing 2 feet in front of the T.V. We changed the batteries to no avail. Getting up to change the channel was not fun but worth the stay. I would recommend it!!

This hotel is in a Very convenient location and is a great middle-of-the-line choice. Booked it on hotwire as two queens, and at the hotel they upgraded us to one king for free. The room was comfortable and quiet. There's a large hot tub next to the indoor pool - which is a must after skiing all day! Not the Ritz - but definitely a great place to relax after a busy day.

We stayed here on a Saturday night because the rate was so low and we needed a place close to Denver but still in the mountains. Stayed here 24 years ago when it was a Ramada and remembered it as being very elegant. 24 years does make a difference. The first thing I noticed upon opening the door to the room was the smell! It smelled like dirty bathroom. I finally discerned that it was the mildewy shower curtain. The room was pretty shabby and the bed uncomfortable. I was very glad that we were only there one short night. The continental breakfast was awful and picked over. The tables in the breakfast room were dirty. I was very disappointed.

We were returning from Denver to Grand Junction Colorado, which means travelling 1-70 thru Vail Pass. A truck jacknifed in front of us in a snowstorm. I 70 was closed 2.5 hrs in both directions. Needless to say, alot of folks were snowbound in Dillon/Silverthorne. When we first arrived at the hotel, the front desk crew said "full up". Then as I turned away, one of the front desk folks took two cancellations and kindly made me aware as I was going out the door. My son is blind and travels with a guide dog so we were so grateful. The 6 floor hotel was full, and they still managed to keep it clean quiet and serve a complimentary breakfast. Kudos!!

The service was atrocious. After asking for a non-smoking room, they put us in a smoking room. After getting lightheaded from chlorine fumes we thought were from the pool, which is at the base of the fire exits, we were chided and ridiculed by the staff for reporting something that they couldn't smell. I had to call hazmat because the manager had to clear it with the owner. It turned out to be a chlorine based smoke "eliminator" but since the staff was so fried from using the stuff (its HIGHLY toxic) they couldn't smell it. But that's besides the point; if a customer complains, check it out, don't whine and complain and force the customer to take steps for their own protection. Would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. Avoid this place.

We booked a room online but were told there was no reservation when we arrived. We had to pay more than our reservation and stayed at a smoking room. After the trip we called and investigated, the general manager admitted that it was a mistake by the front desk lack of skills. However they refused to compensate us in anyway. Long story made short. Their attitude can be summarized as " We screwed up , so what". Try it if you don't believe me.

We stayed at La Quinta in Silverthorne, CO, Dec. 24th and 25th. We had the two room king suite, which was wonderful. I highly recommend it to a family. Kids can have their own tv in one room and adults in the other. Unlike their "family suite", which is a living room on one level and 2 beds up a very scary winding staircase, totally not kid friendly, the King suite is actually 2 different rooms, one with king bed, tv, chair, dresser, and bathroom and one with a sofa sleeper, tv, dresser, desk with a very nice office chair, a regular chair, cabinet with a microwave and frig, coffee table, end tables, and another bathroom. The room was very clean, except that housekeeping had missed the used coffee in the little coffee pot. The Old Chicago restaurant was right down stairs and offered all kinds of different foods, appetizers and salads. The hotel does offer room service from this restaurant. The complimentary breakfast is pretty nice with waffles you can make and the usual continental breakfast items. There is a decent size, pleasant room for the breakfast. The pool was a good size and the spa was nice. Lots of pool towels and a very clean area. There is also a ski shop in the hotel where you can rent skis and buy lift tickets or buy skis, clothing, etc.. The counter person was very tired, but very accommodating and the housekeepers we ran into were very pleasant, considering it was a holiday. Just a couple miles away in Dillon there is a nice movie theatre and there is an outlet mall right down the road from the hotel. Easy access to skiing in the winter and fishing, hiking, etc in the summer. The heat in our room worked perfectly and we never heard neighbors, just a little noise in the hall. All in all, a very pleasant stay. Also, they take pets and we were not charged extra for our little dog, although the room info says $25.00 extra for pets.
