We stayed here two weeks ago...they are almost done with a major renovation. Our room was in the completed section, and was great! Super clean, everything new...with original details to keep the kitschy fun (manatee wall mural, mid century bath tile). We had a suite with two bedrooms a bath and a kitchen. The main bedroom could have used some additional seating in it, so there was a space for everyone to hang out together. The pool was lovely and clean. The only slight annoyance was having to go to a neighboring property for the continental breakfast and to check in...but that's only temporary during the construction. We really appreciated the proximity to the beach...practically across the street! You absolutely can not beat the price, this hotel is a fabulous value. Having the kitchen and a huge brand new publix down the street saved us lots. If you do have any problems, the owner is readily available to fix them. Will definitely stay at the Magic Beach Hotel again in the future! It will be even more awesome when the two-story section is completed.

We stayed at this newley rennovated hotel room over the Labor Day weekend. The owners were not in but a fantastic gal named Wendy was taking care of guests. Our room was a two bedroom unit with a bathroom and kitchenette. Wendy wanted to make sure we would be happy with our room because of the construction of the rennovation currently taking place. We told her the construction was not a problem because during the day we would either be at the beach or at the pool. The room was clean andthe a/c worked well. The kitchen had two burners, a small fridge, a microwave, sink and a coffee maker as well as a two seat place to eat. This hotel is just off the beach and within walking distance of a few places to eat and the Vilano Pier. The pool area was a nice small area but for the amount of people there was ample seating and the water feature helped to keep the sound very relaxing. We would definitely stay here again. The only suggestions we could make to this newer property would be a nice larger peice of furniture such as a love seat or couch and that the toilet seemed to be too low to the ground and could be raised a bit in our room.

I was going to St Augustine for a family reunion that was at Vilano Beach, everyone was staying at the Hampton Inn... I thought it was too expensive for just me, so I looked around for somewhere close and this was right across the street. It took me a while to find the phone number because it was closed for renovations and the number listed has been changed. And the name was changed back to the original name Magic Beach Motel.

I wasnt looking for anything more than someplace to lay my head. To my surprise Magic Beach was a wonderful experience... Yes, there is some construction going on, I think only 10 of the rooms are finished and the jacuzzi suites will not be done for another couple of months..But they were very respectful and work didnt start early and even when I was in the room during the day the construction noise was blocked out by the well insulated walls - it never interfered with my nap.

Wendy, who is the day manager, checked me in was very sweet and gave me a history lesson on the motel - the night manager (and I apologize if I get the The room that I originally booked was not quite finished so she upgraded me to one with a kitchenette (at no additional charge) Everything in the room was brand new, but still had that retro feeling. There was a beautiful mural painted on the wall and the furniture was so keeping with the "Florida 50's" decor. If you are expecting big baths with elegant touches - this is not your kind of place. But if you are looking for a place with character then this is the place. It is steps from the beach - I think the suites will have an ocean view.

This is a hidden gem of a hotel. I will come stay there again.

We just spent a week at the motel and it has just been renovated and is an excellent place to stay very clean and the owners were very nice they even bought a birthday cake for my daughter and had a little party. very close to the beach and very quiet with a grocery store close buy The owners have spent over a million dollars on rennovation and while not quite done yet when it is it will be fantastic when finished if you like fifties retro neon and an old time friendly clean place to stay this is it .We hope to stay there again next year. Great job on the restoration and the owners were the best. five stars at an afforadeable price

Room Tip: get the suite with 2 rooms and the kitchen great value for the money

We decided to drive to Vilano Beach and stay the weekend for a last minute trip. When looking for hotel availability we were disappointed at the lack of rooms available in Vilano and the high price ($199) for a room at the Hampton. When we found out that the Magic Beach hotel was open for business after renovation we decided to give it a try. And I'm really glad we did!! From the first time speaking with the owners on the phone to the time we arrived it was great service. Remy is wonderful and very accommodating. We arrived at midnight, no problem she was there waiting with a smile. We stayed in room #14 one of the suites with 2 beds, a separate bedroom and a kitchen. We were the first to stay in this room and it was very clean, cold and felt new despite it being a old hotel that has been refurbished. We were so happy with the value of this hotel and it's proximity to the beach- minutes to walk. We were told that they are redoing the second story portion of the hotel and many ammenities will be forthcoming. Very pleasantly surprised with this one!!!

The staff and accomodations were great...kitchen fully stocked with everything but food. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels, soap, shampoo. The staff was so friendly that we felt we had know them for years. We will definitely go back again and again. It was funky and cool and on the ocean. And the price was right.
