The location is superb, but that is all that River's Edge has to offer.
We stopped for breakfast on our last day in Salida and it was the biggest mistake. It took forever to get our coffee, for a waitress to stop by and take our order, and for our food to arrive. The food at the next table looked delightful. Our food, however, arrived COLD and took over 45-minutes - eggs were not cooked in the eggs benedict (luckily we did not get sick!), pork green chili had no pork! and eggs were not even scrambled (whites and yoke were not even mixed), and our waitress was too busy gabbing with the locals to check on us for 20-minutes. Even after showing her that 2 out of 3 items were inedible, she only replied "thanks for letting us know" and proceeded to give us the $40 bill. Our daughter said the French toast was great with the HALF CUP of butter poured on top - Gross! We wanted to love this place, but I have absolutely no positive comments except to recommend to others that they enjoy the patio while drinking a beer and AVOID eating anything!
Enjoy Salida - I can highly recommend Amica's as the restaurant not to miss!
