“Amazing views”
Reviewed July 5, 2013 via mobile

The tram is very quick, may be 10 minutes each way. You can spend as long as you want up top. The views are spectacular. Well worth the $10 per person.

Be sure to stop in the store for home made fudge and ice cream. The ice cream was really, really good. All the staff in the store and tram were very friendly. We would stop again if in the area.

“Wonderful views”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

The ride up was a little shaky due to high winds, but the staff takes extra care to make sure you are safe. The views from the top were spectacular. The Top staff provided information about each peak and answered all questions quickly. Due to wind conditions, we were not allowed outside. The gift shop is well stocked and the prices are lower than other attractions we have visited. The staff at the shop are also very friendly.

“A lot of fun for the price.”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

We enjoyed the tram and the view from the top is incredible, all for only $10.00 per person. They also offer a senior discount and the price for children was less as well.

“A view worth the money on a clear day!”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

We don't do "touristy" things, but decided to stop and ride the trams at Monarch Crest when we were driving by one summer day. It's slightly pricey, but you can ride up to the top and stay up there as ling as you want. You can even take your lunch! This was first built sometime in the 1960's and the trams do seem pretty old, but it seemed safe enough. (The tram operator's did seem very safety conscious!) The view from the top is really wonderful and at each window there is a panorama photo with all the peaks labelled so you know what you are looking at. The view the day we went was spectacular due to clear weather on and smoke from forest fires. The men operating the tram are very nice and helped my husband (he has MS) get into the tram since it kind of sways as people get in. The tram operators were retired guys who summer in the Monarch area and they were super chatty, full of jokes and great local info...very entertaining!! The day we went (early August) it wasn't very busy so there was no wait at all. Once you get to the top there are 10-15 steps up to the viewing platform so people with walking/climbing/balance disabilities may have a bit of a problem. This is not wheelchair accessible as there are no ramps to the viewing platform & I doubt a wheelchair would fit in the tram (common sense should tell that, but you never know...) but I do think a walker would fit into the tram and they seemed like they would allow that if there was no line, but you might want to call and ask. We didn't realize it, but we caould have parked up close to the lower tram house so my husband wouldn't have had to walk up the small hill to the entrance (we hadn't asked aobut that when we vought our tickets, but the short incline was not terribly difficult for him). Also, at some points the tram is pretty high above the gorund (as you would expect) so the tram operators do tell people which side to sit on if they have a fear of heights...very considerate. The gift shop/visitor's center is very large and very nice with clean restrooms. If you want to pay with a credit card you can only do that in the gift shop/visitor's center. I was wishing it was a little less expensive and I can't remember if they had a military/retired military discount (but it never hurts to ask) but since there were only 3 of us and it was an amazingly clear day, I would have to say it was a delightful experience and well worth the price we did pay. This is a place I would take our visitors if we were travelling together.

“Vacation 2012”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

I have been wanting to stop to do the tram for years and this was the right time to do it. The trip up is beautiful. Takes about 3 mins + allowing for stops to let others on. We stepped outside when we got up top and the view was breathtaking. Highly recommended
