“Highly Recommend! The Best Place to Stay!”

This is much more than a cabin! It is a well thought out house in the beautiful woods! Everything that you could possibly want or need is there. There's bubble bath in the main bath, a gas grill on the deck, and binoculars to use. The kitchen has every appliance from a waffle iron to a popcorn popper. They have many DVD movies to watch. There is free long distance phone service to anywhere in the USA. There's a creek that runs behind the cabin. It's very peaceful, and a great place to get away from it all. The hiking in the area is extensive. There's a book on the local trails in the living room, to help plan your hike. I highly recommend staying here. I have traveled worldwide, and this is one of the best places that I have ever stayed. The attention to detail is superb!

“A relaxing cabin in a beautiful setting!”
Reviewed November 17, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

My partner and I stayed at Spruce Ridge Guest Cabin two weeks ago and we absolutely loved it. It was exactly what we were looking for! A quiet, relaxing cabin that is remote enough to relax but close enough to town that we could go out for meals and excursions without hassle. It was perfect! Not to mention the cute llamas that were in the yard. We loved watching them and we hope to come back in the summertime for a llama tour if we have enough time off.
The cabin was decorated with a nice rustic touch and it felt very cozy. It was also very clean, which we appreciated.
Thanks so much! We will recommend this place to others for sure.

We absolutely loved this little haven of piece and quiet. So much more comfortable than a hotel with everything we needed to feel at home. The three decks provided a great views of the surrounding mountain and forest. The creek below the cabin provided a constant soothing sound as it wound it's way down the hillside. The bed was very comfortable, and having two bathrooms was handy. Dan, the owner, was very nice and made sure we were comfortable. We hope to return in the spring with a couple of family members. In the future, we will always choose Spruce Ridge over any hotel in town.

This is a great little cabin tucked away in the mountains with a babbling stream running just below the back deck. Has everything you need: full kitchen with fridge, laundry, propane grill out back, and is super clean and comfortable. One bedroom, but couch folds out into a second bed. Two baths. Radio and sound system. No TV...but owner has a pretty good collection of DVDs. Wi-fi for laptops, but you will be taking a break from your cell phone...which we enjoyed. Was torn between giving this one the awesome review it deserves and keeping it to myself so nobody else finds out about it....just lovely!

“Mountain get a way.”
Reviewed June 14, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This cabin was better than I expected, clean, modern and neat as a pin. Dan went out of his way to make our stay special. I especially liked morning coffee on one of the three decks overlooking the creek. The bathrooms were immaculate and the kitchen fully stocked with utensils and cookware. You will have to bring your own DVDs and music as this is in the mountains and internet is spotty.

“Has everything going for it!”
Reviewed October 17, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

This is the kind of place I love to find! The evil little devil on one shoulder wants me to keep it to myself so I can make sure to have it available when I want to revisit, but the angel on the other has won, so I'll share my happiness. The location is fabulous, the setting is quiet and scenic, the cabin is modern and has everything we could ask for and more. I've already told my daughter and her hubby about it so they can escape there.

We visited on a perfect fall few days. Spent a lot of time fishing on lakes and the Arkansas, hiked around some, checked out the town of Salida, watched the birds and stars from the deck. The cabin's only 3 miles off HWY 50 and 5 total from Poncha Springs, so getting in and out is easy.

The pictures don't do the place justice - it's very modern and welcoming, as was our host.

We didn't try out the sofa bed, so no idea how it would work for adults.

No cell service, so we brought our tablet and used the free Wifi for connecting to the rest of the world. As if we really wanted to, ha ha!

Definitely a special vacation spot.

“Quiet cabin retreat”
Reviewed September 16, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We had an amazing stay at the Spruce Ridge Guest Cabin. It was everything we were hoping for: comfortable, private, clean, and all the amenities of home (washer and dryer particularly came in handy). Dan was a great host and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. We loved the views, the three decks, and the peaceful sound of the creek just down the ridge. It was a wonderful soundtrack to fall asleep to. Full kitchen with everything we needed to prepare our own meals (including a gas grill) and we are already looking forward to a return visit. We just can't decide if it will be this winter or next summer. Highly recommend!
