Had a nice stay on an abbreviated ski weekend trip w/ my teenage son at this wonderful little hostel smack in the downtown of Salida. Jon the manager (owner?) couldn't be nicer or more accomodating and this of course always makes all the difference. Free WiFi (which we didn't avail ourselves of), cozy, if quirky , rooms with quite a nice lounge area as well as a kitchen w/ all the trimmings for your cooking pleasure. Free coffee and waffles in the morn provided. There's a nice private family bunk room upstairs w/ the only drawback having to walk through a row of other bunks to get to and from the services... Not a big deal, as it is a hostel and a nice one at that... Stay, ski, raft and ask Jon about recommendations for food, things to do etc etc.... enjoy yourself !
