“Best restraunt in central colorado”
Reviewed December 25, 2010

The boathouse cantina is a family owned restraunt and one of the best in the state. The atmosphere is amazing with a riverside view and a new front lounge area with pool tables, two dart boards, and another bar. Also, the food is amazing with all sorts from tacos to burgers and homemade jalepeno poppers. If I were visiting in salida and was looking for a great place to eat, boathouse cantina is the best places to go!

“Ok bar food with a fun river view! And big tvs!”
Reviewed October 8, 2010

We frequent the Boathouse Cantina when we want to take family and visitors to a restaurant in Salida that has decent food (price and quality) as well as great people and river watching. The Boathouse is essentially a sports bar right on the Arkansas river. We think it's best to go for lunch or an early dinner in the spring/summer/fall, so you can still see the kayakers and rafters heading down the Ark. Kids and dogs may also be entertaining you by jumping into the freezing cold water right below where you dine. The food is just Ok, nothing to get too excited about. The service is good though and we never have any complaints. The big screen tvs also are a great addition for any sports watching in a town that was in need of a decent sports bar. Overall, there's better food in town, but the river views and people watching help give this place a thumbs up.

“It was okay....”
Reviewed September 14, 2010

Our desk clerk recommended us to go to the Boathouse for drinks but go somewhere else for dinner. I think most of our group was happy with their meal, mine was okay. I don't like the pub style seating, I am short and have a difficult time getting up on the seat. Plus, I was chilly and they had the windows up so it was even more unpleasant. Then the drunk next to us decided to talk and talk to us. We were tired from traveling and were just trying to enjoy a meal before heading back to the motel and bed. I would go somewhere else if I was back in the area.

“Caters to the Mucky Mucks”
Reviewed September 8, 2010

My husband and I went to Boathouse Cantina to watch a football game (we were out-of-towners). We told them specifically we were there to watch the game and we were seated (they will seat you...not a choose-where-you-want-to sit) at one of the tables with the river view. About an hour into it, we were told we were in "premium seating" and to not forget our server. We were told this on several occasions. We were ordering food and drinks so we weren't dead beats. Again, they seated us...we would have been perfectly happy sitting at the bar. About eleven minutes before the game was over we were told that wouldn't be able to watch the rest of the game because the owner had purchased a pay per view for West Virginia versus Carolina game. It was just down right rude. Food was marginal at best. I will never go back there. Owner can hob nob with all his cronnies but won't get any more of my $$$$. Try Amica's instead.
