The breakfasts were outstanding, the innkeeper and staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed seeing the goats milked, and eating the products made from that milk. Convenient to lots if outdoor activities--great area to enjoy the fall leaves.

Just one night could we stay in this gorgeous house with it's warmhearted hosts during our colorado vacation. We both wished it would be more time for that great experience. The room we had was pretty furnished, 100% clean and had a great view on the mountains and of course on the goats.
I loved it to be with them; they are so friendly and they deeply moved my heart; Obama the lama, with his warm big eyes, whom I was thankfully allowed to feed, also will be unforgotten. The dogs, especially little crazy Suki are adorabel too.
Breakfast was excellent; the goat-milk-latte, the goat cream-cheese, eggs from very, very happy chickens: YUMMY!!
The bottom line is: if you love humans, if you love animals, if you want to stay cozy and clean and if you prefer fresh, healthy and really good food you had to choose the Mountain Goat Lodge!
If we would ever again visiting colorado, we would stay there for a view nights; that's for sure!
Thank you Gina and D'arcy!

Words cannot describe the enjoyment we experienced at the Mountain Goat Lodge. The staff is top notch - bar none! D'Arcy makes the best Espresso, Antoinette makes breakfast that are both delicious and nutritious and Gina is hands down the best hostess and business operator in the B&B world (from making goats milk Greek yogurt just before breakfast to sharing everything she knows and has experienced with the ease of a famous motivational speaker!).

This dog heaven of a place is so clean you wouldn't know that a canine had ever spent the night but we met 10 awesome dogs with superb personalities during our way too short 2-day visit.

The Mountain Goat Lodge is the place to stay when exploring Southwest Colorado or in route to destinations West.

Gina and Antoinette - you have both found your calling and are exactly where you were meant to be!

Room Tip: The Princeton Room on the second floor has the best views!

We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Goat Lodge perhaps more than any other hotel or bed/breakfast experience. We had a wonderful room. The breakfast featured goat cheese made on site, apple dumplings that surpassed sublime, and delicious Huevos rancheros. In addition, MGL has an espresso machine, and they know how to use it. My mocha kicked. Mountain Goat Lodge has 16 goats, three dogs of varying sizes, and a skittery cat, which I missed seeing. The owner loves animals, and for us, we could not have imagined a more relaxing, calm experience. The only aspect I'd change is that I'd stay longer. And we will. Next time.

Our family of four stayed at the Mountain Goat Lodge for 3 nights and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Our two children (7 and 10) loved playing with the friendly goats and even got to milk them! While not enjoying the great outdoor amenities of the surrounding area, we loved soaking in the hot tub before breakfast while sipping a latté, going over the day's adventures with friends in the cozy "great room", playing air hockey and reading in the upstairs game room, and chatting with other guests at breakfast.

The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the breakfasts are gourmet and Gina, D'Arcy and Antoinette are all great hosts. We really felt like part of the family during our stay, which is exactly how a great B&B should make you feel, so kudos to everyone at the Mountain Goat Lodge!

We will certainly be back soon.

Ian

Gina was so welcoming to our large group of adults, kids and a dog! We were so relaxed in that beautiful atmosphere because she and Antoinette do their best to make us feel at home. I think my dog felt like he was on vacation as well! So fun to milk the goats and play with them and learn a little about farm life. We also enjoyed their amazing breakfasts and felt comfortable hanging out, talking, sitting in the hot tub, playing games and going for moonlit hikes! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We can't wait to go back! We miss Gina and her Goats already!

The position of the lodge on rolling, juniper dotted hills, with alpine mountains all around affords views of unparalleled beauty. Gina and her assistant, Antoinette are very friendly and go out of their way to make guests feel comfortable and at home. They cheerfully met every restriction of my quite limited diet. Other guests enjoyed goat yogurt, goat cheese, and eggs from free range chickens in addition to fruit and breakfast meat with beverages of tea, coffee, and juice. I do not like goat milk, goat cheese, nor goat yogurt. My husband, however, successfully persuaded me to try the yogurt on the next to last day. It was sooo good; thick, creamy, and mild tasting. No "goat flavor" as found in commercial goat milk and cheese. I regretted not having the goat yogurt, fruit, and granola before then.

Her animals are dear to Gina and she shares them with guests. You can watch her milk the goats and you may be allowed to milk them yourself. She gives you a thorough education on the goats during the milking. You can photograph the goats and chickens. Gina allows guests to bring pets and has a kennel outdoors for guest's dogs.

Each room and suite has a private bath and is named for one of the surrounding mountain peaks and has its own decorative theme. They are very clean, comfortable and airy. Sleep quality and location did not get an excellent only because in our front side room one could hear the highway traffic. We turned on the fan in the swamp cooler to disguise the sounds. There is a hot tub outdoors that is perfect for star gazing and thongs, towels, and robes for guest's convenience.

We would recommend Mountain Goat Lodge to others and would return to it ourselves.

Room Tip: All rooms are clean, comfortable, and well decorated, but the rooms or suites on the back side of th...
