This campground is tucked into a very quiet little valley. There are only 13 campsites and all of them are very nice. It has a little river that runs past at least half of them and the amazing falls are just a short walk away. You can hike to the top of the falls and see caves with a rare species of bats living inside along the way. The hike is very easy and has lots of beautiful areas to see. There are trout that can be seen swimming in the pool and stream below the falls and, on occasion, you can experience wildlife walking through the campground, usually early in the morning or at dusk. The only drawback to this campground is that it does get extremely busy on Saturdays and Sundays with all of the locals coming out to enjoy the falls, too! With this said, we recommend this campground to people of all ages especially if you can camp Monday through Friday!!!

Just driving thru Rifle we stopped at the Information Center.(which is located on the river, with nice walking paths.) We were advised to take a ride to see the falls. We were not disappointed.it was mid week and very few people around. The falls are just a short walk from parking.you can climb up a short path and go behind the falls Its Beautiful.we got some great pictures.Wish we had more time to explore the area. .

Great little park for RV or tent camping. Very busy on the weekends but quieter during the week. Reservations highly recommended as there are only a dozen or so campsites. Several are right on Rifle creek and very nice. Hiking to the falls is easy and very scenic. Pets are allowed on the trails which is unique to this park. Electric hookups. No dump station.

Beautiul place right outside of Rifle. Well worth the time and easy to get to. Can be crowded at times though.

We had noticed these falls on a flyer in our hotel. The trip was short, the road there lined with very pleasant views. The area by the campground had wild birds, a pond with a small critter? swimming in it. The cool mist surrounding the falls was so refreshing. This was a stunning green oasis of beauty. We went in the morning, and I was glad that we had as the light on the falls was so pretty. As we hiked up to the top, we ran into some wild turkeys with young chicks! This was where you go through the cliff and cave area. The view from the top is very lovely, and it is protected with good fencing to protect those with small children or pets. Be sure to keep your pets on their leashes. This is a must see if you are in this area.
