“Bad rubbery food stay away”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2011

This place seems like the staff doesn't know what food is. They microwave everything. Kitchen was to busy partying to be bothered. I should have known it was 12:30pm and every restaurant in the area was packed, but this place had only 4 customers. Save you money go someplace else.

“The mnost upscale restaurant between Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2011

As the "bistro" title of this restaurant suggests, it offers dishes that are much more highly prepared than standard eggs and bacon or hamburgers and fries. In that respect, it is different than other restaurants in Rifle and the surrounding area, and in fact is unique in a community that is "real Western" at best and redneck at worst.

At present, it only serves breakfast and lunch (and also a selection of coffe drinks that can be taken out). There are a very wide selection of dishes with influences ranging from Mexican to oriental to East Coast urban to dishes that could have been created anywhere. All are priced a few dollars less than comparable dishes would be in Glenwood Springs (30 miles to the east), which is much more tourist oriented.

The decor is informal, but with art work that, like the food, is more eclectic than the Western decor that is typical of the several other restaurants and bars in the area. My wife and I had brunch there, and found the food to be very good and reasonably priced (with only a few dishes more than $10).
