I started my 2016 year off in the right direction by taking my good friends to this beautiful spot high up at 9100 feet. First experience with Tim and the gang and we hope for #2 one day soon. Cozy cabins, great trails, smores around the camp fire and great western cooking. To Tim, Pam,Cody and Brenna - thanks for your warm and friendly ways.

This was our second trip to Coulter Lake Guest Ranch (last was 2 years ago), and both were incredible. The setting is gorgeous and the owners and staff welcomed us back like family. We went with 2 other families, 7 kids total ranging from 3yo to 17yo, and all were happy. Our dog was possibly the happiest of the bunch and made great dog friends of his own. Meals are incredible, esp Saturday night steak dinner with special Dutch oven cooking by Rebecca. Cabins are worn but comfortable and clean, with amazing views over the lake. We hiked, used the kayaks and canoes, went on horseback rides, caught (and ate) lake trout, went target shooting and read books. Would be a perfect place to paddle board, but would need to bring your own. We will be back, hopefully when the aspen are in their full glory. Missed the resident bald eagle, but could watch the hummingbirds all day! One tip-bring your own alcohol. Lemonade, ice tea, hot chocolate and water are available all day, but bring a cooler with anything else you would want. In summary, Jack and Pam have created a magical place and consistently surround themselves with staff who obviously love the ranch and make sure you will as well.

Went to Coulter Ranch for 5 days/4 nights - a mini family reunion for my husband and I and our adult children from across the country. It was an absolutely perfect vacation from beginning to end.

The location of the ranch was remote and so beautiful. Accommodations were rustic, clean and comfortable. The food was amazing and Rebecca (the cook) went out of her way to accommodate a gluten free diet. But the best part about the trip had to be the wonderful staff - Tim, Cody, Joe, Rebecca, and Brenna made sure we were comfortable, well fed, and busy with activities. Jack and Pam (the owners) did a great job in helping us plan this wonderful trip.

The horseback riding was fantastic. We are all fairly inexperienced riders, and Cody and Joe were the best teachers. When not riding they kept us busy with skeet shooting, archery, horseshoes, fishing, canoeing, hiking, and bonfires.

Tim arranged a side trip to Glenwood Springs to go whitewater rafting. The rafting trip was a great way to spend an afternoon. We went to a brewery in Glenwood Springs afterwards.

This vacation had it all - a beautiful setting, great food, and plenty of activities in the most laid back style. Thank you Jack and Pam and all the staff. We will definitely do this again!

And a special thanks to our canine companions for the trip - Cole, Rocco, and Dolly.

We like to try off the grid places in Colorado that have access to amazing snowmobiling, and of the many different places we've been, this is by far our new favorite.

The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating.
The ranch is well maintained, easy to get to, and the food is very approachable and satisfying. We had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts, and brought our own lunch to each on the trail (though they will pack you a to-go lunch if you want). The highlight was the wood burning fireplace in the cabin, and just sitting around playing cards and sipping whiskey by the fire after dinner.

The snowmobile access and surrounding terrain was epic! Despite not having a big recent dump of snow, there were acres and acres and acres of open powder fields that were so easily accessed from the well groomed and marked trails.

We will be back with a bigger group. Though we opted to snowmobile, there were other actives available for those who don't snowmobile, making it perfect for groups and different interests.
