Review of Orvis Hot Springs

I visited Orvis hot springs while on a road trip back to California from Colorado.

This is definitely a nice facility and their private pools are the best. Unfortunately a lot of the patrons are not privy to proper "hot spring etiquette", and often stare at the fact that you're naked (the men), or bring their bratty kids.

I'd recommend going during the day on a week day and hopefully you'll catch it on its quieter time, when you can truly enjoy the hot springs to their full capacity.

I'd visit here again, but only after I walk back and check out how many people are there.

I have visited Orvis Hot Springs many times in the past starting 10 years ago. This is not the place it used to be. Like every good place, people want to tell everyone about it, whch in turn changes the type of place it is. Orvis used to be a very quiet calm Hot springs that was relaxing and peaceful. It has instead become a loud, crouded, and has too many men hanging around wanting a good look at naked women. There are now kids and loud parents frequently in the pool at times when you would want to relax. Our last visit had a couple with young kids playing in the big pool, with other family members yelling at them from other areas. The staff does not intervene as it seems to be more about etting as many people in as possible vs having fewer people, who would willingly pay more, and more quality. It's definitely not the place it used to be.

I have been here several times, . The water is great and they have a variety of soaking pools, This is a clothing optional pool, , but everyone minds there own and it is the beat soaking place to go , I love to go in the winter, snow all around and soaking in the hot water, while taking in the view.

Staying at Orvis has been a tradition of mine for over a decade. Its among the best private hot springs in Colorado. The peaceful grounds are well maintained and maintain a rustic look. The springs are always clean and the temps are perfect for what ever you are seeking! Soaking with the snow falling around you on a cold winter night is simply one of life's great experiences!

Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Each is decorated with local furnishings. There are two common bathrooms that are always clean, a full (shared) kitchen to use, and excellent coffee! The best amenity is the plush robes to keep you warm to and from the springs!

In over a decade of coming here we have never had an issue leering or other behaviors that another reviewer had posted about. If anyone is a little shy or uncertain about the clothing optional, I recommend going at night! Its my favorite time to be there and the steam rising off the water gives a lot or privacy. If you stay there, you can have the pools practically to yourself after 10. One nice thing about staying is that it is hotel (and camping) guests only after 10:00 pm.

These hot springs are lots of fun! We met some interesting people there while soaking in paradise!!!! It is clothing optional so....you have to have an open mind. The staff was very helpful if you had any questions. It would be great to stay in one of the rooms and have a "midnight" soak
