Stop in and see Frank, he has one of the best clubs that throw back to old Pueblo and absolutely wonderful authentic Italian food.

You haven’t experienced the flavor of Pueblo until you’ve been to La Tronica’s. This is an old family restaurant, has been here forever and is quintessential Pueblo. Natives talk about how the cook would come out and tell you to clean your plate. Today, they’re more polite, but just as eager to feed you and please you. Very friendly service. We had the lasagna. Wonderful! They have a full bar, too. The salad and the bread rolls were good, too. Good food, friendly service, the heart and soul of old Pueblo.

Aunt was always talking about this Itialian dining spot being her favorite so we thought we'd give it a try. I had Eggplant parmesania and it came with a small portion of spaghetti. Did not like it. The spaghetti tasted undercooked and I did not care too much for the sauce. The Eggplant however, was very good as it had a different sauce. My wife had Spaghetti with Italian saugage. She did not like the sauce either, and thought it was average. Dinner came with a small salad and what was to be a antipasto plate which turned out to be a pickle (sliced) and 4 cherry peppers. I thought the food was a bit pricy for pasta, Bread was good and the atmosphere was very nice and service was excellant.

Historic place that many say you must try. I tried it but wasn't impressed with the food. The sauce tasted "burnt" to me. On food alone, I would give 2 stars.

The atmosphere was pretty cool though. Very old, not remodeled for 40 years, but a good feel for those who don't have to have brand new chain type restaurants.

Okay, okay, La Tranica's kitchen may not be staffed with new-age Italian wonder chefs, but the place is worth a visit if only to time-travel back to the days when Italian workers powered one of the West's biggest steel plants, the remnants of which sit just a couple blocks away. Neither the decor nor the menu have changed in decades, and that's a good thing. Grandmotherly types still toil in the kitchen, and some of the waitresses have been around for years. Be sure to order the homemade pasta, either with the tasty meatballs or stewed chicken, or the retro ground veal parmesan. Meals come with a -- retro again -- small antipasti plate, and iceberg salad. Sit in one of the booths in front by the bar (usually quite busy) to enjoy a decent cocktail or a glass of dago red, and play Dean Martin on the jukebox. A pleasant, if brief, time-travel experience indeed!
