“Fun as always!”
Reviewed July 2, 2014 via mobile

I have always enjoyed this place even though over the years, it is the same stuff to see! I was a little upset when my husband and I were taking a stroll, a couple bicyclists sped past us going way too fast regardless of the "bikers, please walk your bike" signs. The restaurant is always pleasant as well

“Daughter Loved!!”
Reviewed June 2, 2014

Our three year old daughter loved our visit!! There were no other people there so you could really take your time and view the birds quite close up. Really nice experience!

“Good People doing good things.”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

The Nature and Raptor Center includes an area on the Arkansas with the Coyote Grill as a place for lunch. The Raptor Center is nearby, follow the signs, and open for a tour. Rehabilitated birds, who are too injured to be released are housed there and if you're lucky, one of the staff will give you a tour and tell you wonderful stories about the individual birds.

The nature center offers many amenities including the interesting Raptor Center for a close up view of birds of prey, picnicking along the Arkansas River, dining at the restaurant along the river, participating in an educational program or accessing the extensive Greenway trail system.

“Great Fun for All Ages-Lots to See and Do”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

Nestled along the Arkansas River amidst huge cottonwood trees, is this very special place with an abundance of things to do-hiking (varying degrees of difficulty including a paved trail along the river that is accessible for strollers and wheelchairs), picnicking, biking, fishing (including an accessible pier), a nature trail, a restaurant with seating outdoors overlooking the river,a gift shop, and a wonderful raptor center.

There is a trail from the main area to the raptor center or you can drive between the two. There is a $3.00 fee per car for parking, but you can park anywhere once you have the permit. The rest of the area is free.

The raptor center was outstanding. Each bird is given a name, a brief bio is posted, and information on each species is give. What I liked was there were species there that are not usually seen in Colorado like the Mississippi Kite. Because the birds are used for educational purposes, they are referred to as "staff". It is wonderful to see that these badly injured birds can live well and provide a service to the visitors. The area was clean and benches provided in front of each bird allowed you time to leisurely enjoy watching them.

There up is something here to interest people of all ages and a great place for families to spend time together.

The raptor center is closed Mondays and open 11 AM to 4 PM Tuesday through Sunday. The gift shop has random hours as far as the restaurant staff told me. I was there at 3 PM on a Wednesday and it was closed until 4 PM.
