“Nice Place to Visit”

We visited the Riverwalk and really enjoyed it - they did a pretty good job with some nice shops and restaurants along the Arkansas River. It is not as big as Riverwalk in San Antonio - done on a smaller scale.

“Clean, Relaxing and Safe”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

Pueblo takes a lot of pride in their river walk. This is where the Arkansas River originally ran through town before the great flood of 1921. The main channel was then diverter to go around the town. When the river walk was opened, the town allowed a small amount of the river to flow through this area. It is a safe place to walk because it’s patrolled frequently by the police and the police department is near-by. In the summer outside concerts can be enjoyed weekly and throughout the year several festivals are held in the immediate area. Eventually the town hopes to have a mini San Antonio with restaurants and shops. Little by little the river walk is extended and new walk-ways and statuary are added. This is a great place to visit and to get a feel for the history of Pueblo. The museum El Pueblo in near-by and gives the history of Pueblo and who occupied the town over the years. On Union street at the bridge crossing over the river walk, you will see many colorful flags. These are flags from various countries who occupied Pueblo. There are boat rides up and down the river but personally, save your money. I feel they are expensive and it's a short ride. The Medal of Honer exhibit is well worth a visit and it's free. You might also walk over Vetrans Bridge were all the fallen heros of Pueblo from all the wars are honored.

“Oasis in the desert”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

A wonderful place to stroll day or night. If you want to get on the water, you have a choice of self propelled paddle boats or a guided gondola ride. Plenty of benches give you a great place to read, and there's plenty of greenery to lay on a blanket, throw a football or frisbee, and let the kids run off steam or get soaked in the fountains. There are many of the town's finest restaurants on the walk or in walking distance. This is your must see destination while you're in Pueblo.

“A great place for a relaxing walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is a lovely area and there are several places to stop and relax. It is very well maintained. The Veterans Bridge area is a wonderful tribute to all veterans. I also recommend the short two block walk over to the convention center to see the Medal of Honor memorial. Pueblo is known as the home of heroes because it is the home town to four recipients of our Country's highest honor!

“A nice walk”

While this attraction is not as big as the River Walk in San Antonio, it is less crowded and easier to get around. You can rent paddleboats take a short cruise, dine in several restaurants, visit the Center for American Values where 144 Medal of Honor winners are honored, visit the Veterans Bridge where all of Pueblo's military veterans are honored or just sit and watch the people walk by.
