We stayed in Jasper and it was fantastic. We had a very warm welcome from the owners, Peter and Irene, and the home-made scones were well appreciated. The accommodation was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Peter and Irene were really helpful, giving us advice on the local area and even giving our 3 year old son bikes to play on. He especially loved being allowed to sit on the tractor. We would recommend these to others and have even booked to go back again in 2013.

We stayed in Kiri lodge for 4 days over the New Year period with our son and Daughter in law, the log fire was burning as we arrived which was a very warm welcome and the layout and facilities were outstanding. Pete and Irene were very welcoming and informative hosts and the hospitality shown (wine and cream tea's) was excellent. This is truly a hidden gem we all had a wonderful time and would fully recommend to couples or family's.

We stayed here July 2012 and we had a what I can only call a lovely unique holiday. Pete and Irene go out of their way to welcome you, and the kids love Farmer Pete!
There were plenty of bikes and Ride On Toys to keep the kids amused, and the play park and Pretty Play Cart were also a big hit!
Smiddy was very cozy, extremely clean, the kitchen has recently been modernised. We had a look at the other accommodation and it all looks just as nice, just bigger.
If you have a need for data connectivity or phone signal, this was very limited as it is all over Exmoor, but there was a WIFI connection if you go over close to Pete and Irene's house!
All in all a very welcoming and relaxed stay and we hope to go back one day.

Us and friends had a brilliant time at our stay in Smiddy in West Hollowcombe. A lovely cosy cottage with a wood burning stove and a welcoming of beautiful home made scones (can't beat that)!
We did a lot of walking and exploring the surrounding area - the dogs appreciated this holiday a lot. But the best part was we didn't need to get in the car!
Thank you Pete and Irene for welcoming us and adding those personal touches, a perfect place to relax.

We went to West Hollowcombe for New Year with our friends and stayed in Smiddy. It was a really cosy cottage and felt like a home-from-home. When we arrived the fire was roaring which was a lovely touch. We spent much of our time walking in the local area. There are lots of fantastic walks straight from the cottages. We found this a really relaxing break, and the hosts - Pete and Irene - were brilliant!

We stayed in Kiri and Peter and Irene couldn't do enough for us!

The cottage was beautiful within stunning grounds and very apt for dogs!

Was very homely, scones that were home made by Irene were scrummy and the icing on the cake!

Will definitely go again, looking forward to booking up soon!

Myself and My partner recently hired out 'Smiddy' for a long weekend in November, we travelled with family who hired out 'Norton' during the same period. We were greeted by a wonderfully quaint and cosy cottage situated in what can only be described as a wonderful area of Exmoor. On arrival at Smiddy we were promptly shown around by Peter who made us feel welcome with cream tea's and a raging fire. It certainly didn't take us long to make ourselves at home. The cottage came fully equipped with fridge/freezer and other white goods excluding washing machine (laundry services available) essentials such as tea bags, sugar and other condiments were also readily available I assume left by previous occupants. Smiddy has a beautiful layout and consists of a downstairs twin/double bedroom of good size with adjoining door to the shared bathroom. There is a second large double bedroom located on a mezzanine floor which overlooks the rest of the cottage... Perfect. Peter was happy for us to bring along Mutley my dog and kindly provided us with a shower area and fresh towels to wash him post walk.

West Hollowcombe farm is in a perfect location for hikers. located just a few miles from Tarr Steps which we took full advantage of with long walks across the river followed by a refreshing break at Tarr Farm Inn. Also a short journey from the farm was Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor great photo opportunities with views right across to Wales and chances to spot the famous Exmoor ponies.

All-in-all this was an ideal getaway weather you are a coupe, family or just friends who enjoy simple country living. Peter and Irene have really excelled in making WHF a wonderful spot for all. We will be returning!
