“Weekend Stint at Dahican Surf Resort Mati City”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2014

I chose this place the last time I had my 3 weeks vacation in the Phils. though I'm a resident of Tagum City but I haven't been there all my life. So, badly I wanted to try this new place and the place is not yet touristy, very laid back and the road en route there is all concrete except going inside the resort. Plus, you will be treated by breathtaking views of nature most especially the scenery of the fabled Sleeping Dinosaur. You can buy foods in the city proper for bbq, grilling and anything above the fire. Waves are good and the surfing experience is not so expensive for Php300 as of this comment. Visit my blog:

“Sea, sand, surf, sensational!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 5, 2013 via mobile

If youre the beach/outdoor-sy type of person, Dahican is for you. A 2 1/2- hr drive from Davao City, Dahican is a beach like no other: tranquil side for relaxation and wild side for skim boarding and surfing. Plus u get to have a peek of the Pacific.

“Davao Oriental's Secret Treasure, Better than Bali!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

Only a 3-hours drive from Davao City via the Scenic Maharlika Highway, Dahican Beach is indeed a hidden gem. The roads to Mati, Davao Oriental are unbelievably good - even better than those in Davao City. If only local leaders encourage investors to develop the area, and ensure the beauty of the town is preserved, it would surely be a favorite destination. Leaders should start maximizing the potential of our beautiful destinations. The beach is definitely more beautiful than Bali!

“great for surfers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

This is the pride of South Min for surfing and other water extreme adventures. Located in Mati, Davao Oriental, and may be reached by bus or private vehicle. However, there are only few resorts and restaurants nearby. Its better to include the itinerary other beaches just few kilometers away and even the island hopping in Waniban..

“Not for young children. Beach drops away into deep water quite fast. Good for surfing.”

Accommodation quite basic. You need to stay in Mati. Best hotel there I found was the one at the end of the boardwalk on the waterfront. A bit old but good air con, bed and a large room. Plenty of strong hot water.
