Description: The Moon and Mushroom is a quaint 16th century Inn. It is believed it was used as a staging post for prisoners being deported to the Colonies from the Ipswich Assizes. This beautiful old Pub was featured by Sky News all day during the Jubilee weekend and we were chosen from all of East Anglia to light the Rural Beacon which was televised nationally and internationallyThe Moon and Mushroom has won The Best Country Village Pub for Food and Drink on 2 separate occasions.Real Ale from small East Anglia Micro Breweries is served straight from the Tap Room and our varied menu is all locally sourced and cooked here on the premises. This is a fabulous old pub with no juke box, one armed bandit or television

M&M is a local for us - we know them for their good food, varying portion sizes and substituted ingredients!!!!
we had the seafood mezze - not bad although very clearly brought in. felt a bit sorry for people who ordered it after us as they ran out of the 'posh plates' and later heard the waitress tell the barmaid 'we've ran out of mezzo but we do have mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes (not quite the same as calamari and prawns!). the mains tasted lovely, although smaller portions than last time we were there. The two bar staff spent more time chatting at the bar than clearing tables, but its our local and we are know what to expect. If you haven't been before you probably will be disappointed. Ps they won the EADT award about 10 years ago!

went to the bar and asked for wine list, they only do two wines, we were first to arrive early evening half the menu was not available, even those items we ordered were later taken off so we had to choose again, not great food and tiny starters, avoid***!*
