Mary's bakery, Slice O Life is probably the best bakery I have ever been to. After climbing Mt. Lincoln we would go here and eat her awesome cheesecake and eat their homemade ice cream sandwiches.

They use local produce from the area (peaches!).

This is a small, quite narrow, and very long place. It is part of the old brick movie theater, so that is why it is long and narrow. There are a great variety of fresh made breads and bakery products. You don't have to expand your waistline, they also have very healthy products which also taste good. If you get any really good bread in sandwiches anywhere else in the Grand Valley, it probably came from here. They are very nice to the disabled with service dogs, but then this is Palisade, not Grand Junction.

They have a full line of fresh made breads and pastries. I bought some rye and dill buns and a peach newton. The peach newton was exceptional.

This is really the only breakfast place in town if you miss breakfast at the Wine Country Inn. It's really sad that the don't take cards because we likely would have doubled our bill if they did. Doesn't seem like the kind if establishment that looks at what it's customers saying online about them, but they REALLY need to take cards. Their food is probably a little under-priced, so just increase that a little to cover the additional cost of taking cards. I would have been a happier customer that way. But the pastries were amazing....wish we could have tried more.
