“Our 2nd stay”

at this lovely inn.
Check-in was quick & easy. We had a room on the third floor with a vineyard view. It was as expected - clean & in good repair. The beds comfortable. The shower needed some fiddling to get a good flow.
We enjoyed a refreshing dip in the pool before the wine reception & dinner in the Tapestry Lounge. Dinner menu had a range of selections. The salmon we had was perfect.
The complimentary breakfast buffet offered scrambled eggs, french toast, some interesting breads, yogurt & fruit. The eggs I had were slightly dry but the apple stuffed strudel-type pastry was delish.
Would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed here 3 times and are never disappointed. This time we had especially good food prepared by chef Jesse Wilson. He paid attention to our request that the salmon be prepared a special way and came out to our table to make sure we were satisfied.
The Inn faces a huge mountain that is right there in your face. Fantastic.

We arrived on a very busy Friday. The inn was hosting a wedding and a BBQ and music evening by the pool. We were able to get into our room 45 minutes early (counter to what other reviewers indicated) the staff was gracious and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was very good and the choices were diverse. We loved the wine tasting at 5:00 PM and the pool was refreshing. Breakfast was good but lacked local fruit (which was abundantly in season) and my only complaint was that the coffee was terrible. We found out it was made from concentrate rather than brewed; that was a poor choice.

The town of Palisade was sleepy but engaging. The Blue Pig art gallery was worth a visit and we were lucky enough to wander into the local Lavender Festival. Colorado wines are exceptional and rival California.

Room Tip: Back corner rooms offers great views of the vineyards and the mesa

My whole family was in town for a wedding, didn't know what to expect. Got a very pleasant surprise. Located right next door to a few nice wineries.
Very nice hotel, unbelievably friendly and helpful staff! Recommend to anyone.

With no provocation at all, the front desk staff member I spoke with was extremely impatient and rude. Also, I was put on hold FOREVER! Maybe it was just one bad egg, but I would not recommend staying here. Not worth dealing with this type of attitude when you're on vacation.

My husband stayed here once for a golf trip and then suggested that we stay here one night on the way to Lake Powell. It made the drive to our final destination much easier. When you drive in you are led through the vineyards. It is really a beautiful setting. The building itself is very inviting with rocking chairs on the front porch. We ate dinner in the Tapestry Restaurant. I couldn't believe the menu. It was not regular bar food but more on the high end. We started with appetizer. Peach BBQ Pork sliders and a meat and cheese plate. All very good. I had the Venison special. Cooked very well with a plum sauce. No wild taste at all. Other items that our party enjoyed were steak, halibut. Pesto pasta and burgers. The wine was also good. The bartender and waiter were very friendly and informative. We were traveling with a party of 8 and they took great care of us. The rooms were clean and decorated appropriately for the area. Breakfast was fresh and not just cereal. I had eggs benidict. After breakfast went to the pool. Asked For late check out and had no problem. Checked out at 12:00p. Overall it was great night to start our vacation. It a good value. I am sure we will stay again!

The Wine Country Inn is a fantastic hotel. This was our second stay here. The first time was in 2009 shortly after they opened and we were very happy with it then. I must say it has improved since our last stay. They added the Tapestry lounge and resturant. We had dinner in the lounge one of the nights we stayed. The food was excellent the service was very good. We also had drinks in the Lounge 2 of the nights we stayed and the bar tender Tyler was excellent. He made us some special cocktails that he came up with and they were great!... The only issue we had was the check in time. In their defense they advertise a 4 pm check in as most hotels do however you can usually get a room an hour or 2 early if you arrive early. Not here. Not a big deal though. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and hope to be back some day!
