This was our 3rd stay at WCI. My previous reviews said that the only negative was the availability of good places to eat in Palisade. They fixed that by opening a restaurant on the property. We ate there and the food was great.

We recently had a Colorado Municipal Judges' Association conference at the Wine Country Inn. The facilties are wonderful. Staff was great! The pool, rooms, conference facilties, and food were excellent. I hope we come back to this venue soon and would highly recommend a visit.

Great destination and venue!

I recently stayed at the Wine County Inn with a large group. The rate was a bit pricey at $100 per night but we were told that it was a great property. That was not my experience, unfortunately.

The Inn advertises that they have free wireless and high speed internet. That was not the case. Most of the time the entire internet was down. When it was up it was very slow. At one point I asked about it at the front desk and the disinterested clerk said: "Yeah, we have that problem too." No attempt to fix it at all. For some the seclusion and lack of internet may be a plus. But when I wanted to check on family and work, I couldn't.

The Inn also claims to have free USA Today newspapers at the front desk. We were up at 6:30 each day and we never saw a paper. No one else in our group did either. The clerks said that they had "limited" copies. Zero is certainly limited.

The breakfast was included in our stay. It too was disappointing. The trays of eggs, potatoes and the like were small and the food was cold. The staff didn't put any sterno under them to heat them nor did they replace them very fast. In fact the kitchen staff was as slow as molasses the entire stay. The large coffee bins were never full. It too was often lukewarm. There was also limited seating.

This facility looks charming but looks are deceiving. The "wicker" chairs were plastic. The "hardwood" floors were vinyl. The room door had such a wide gap that wind and light came through it at all times. Quaint, yes, but also cheap. The room was tiny and the closet door also doubled as the bathroom door. If you wanted to get something out of the closet you locked everyone either in or out of the bathroom. Very strange. The business center is two slow computers and the fitness room was tiny with only three machines.

Now this is wine country and the views are beautiful. The scenery is stunning. The Inn has a wine tasting every day and you do get a free "small" glass of wine. Don't ask for a refill because you won't get it. We also chose to set up a tour of the winery that sits next door. Despite the fact that we called ahead, when we arrived no one was around to give us the tour. Instead the told us we could wander through the arbor. Not exactly a tour. The wine was also quite expensive, not what I expected since we were at the source.

This property is only a few years old so it may get better with age. It is conveniently located not far from I-70. However, I think there are better deals out there in Grand Junction and in the valley as well. I would not choose to stay here again.

Room Tip: Pick a room facing the pool if you are on the first floor.

Dear Sir or Madam,

As General Manager of the Wine Country Inn I am distressed to hear about your less than satisfactory stay at our hotel.

This troubled me to the point of contacting the Primary Liason for your conference to see if your experience was isolated or indicitive of any greater issue. However, your host had nothing but positive feedback from other attendees.

We would have loved to have the oportunity to address your concerns during the course of your stay and would still welcome the chance to make this right for you.

Sincerely.

General Manager
Wine Country Inn.

Geat hotel and staff! The staff was great and answered all our questions. The bar was very cozy and relaxing and priced well. The food was awesome and the breakfast a must! Get their early for a good seat. The view are incredible. All our questions about the area were answered and we got some great directions to some aweseom vinyards for some wine tours. If you are passing through or looking for a weekend getaway stop here! We will be back soon!!

Room Tip: The views all around are great!

What a joy it is to spend the night at a great hotel like the Wine Country Inn. Immaculate, friendly staff, wine tasting at the hotel in the afternoon, and a great breakfast to start the day. I can not understand some of the other reviews. I do not know of a better hotel anywhere in this price range.

I inadvertently booked a king room with patio that was assigned for a person with disability - not realising that ADA in the USA signified this so I accept that certain features had to be available. However, why does a person with disability have to be by the lift, where other noisy guests always seem to congregate and why does the bathroom have to look like it is part of a correctional facility. There was no "luxury" in that room and when we pointed out that a guest would have to put the hairdryer, brushes and anything else they needed in the sink .... electric appliance and wet environment!!!! the staff were not in the least interested. Like other guests we found the staff to be bordering on rude, arrogant and disinterested. We were nearly at the end of a 2 week driving holiday and, although this was the most expensive accommodation it was the least caring and friendly. The facilities were average, the staff made us feel uncomfortable because of their disinterest and we did not enjoy our stay. However. the Colorado Winefest was absolutely brilliant because everybody was so friendly and it was very well organised ( get the VIP ticket ... so worth it), all the other places we stayed and went to were brilliant and we had a fantastic holiday.

Room Tip: Don't stay there if you have a disability - they don't care!!!!! Don't stay on a Saturda...

Where to start with this hotel.... Looking at the website it looks fantastic. It is not!!! It is a motel masquerading as a boutique hotel. Staff were sullen and annoying. Rooms dismal, dark and drab. Breakfast totally disappointing, and dining area far too small and congested. Avoid this if you can.

Room Tip: Get out of the room as soon as you can and try wine tasting. However not at the adjacent facility...
