“The best and only place I will stay on the western slope!”
Reviewed July 12, 2011

I recently got married at WCI and it was amazing!!! I had so much help and support from Julianne and April, so I had nothing to worry about, even though I planned a destination wedding.

We arrived on Friday afternoon for rehearsal and the wedding weekend. It took me an hour to get everything handed over to Julianne and April, and they took care of it all for the rest of the weekend. The wedding was amazing and stress free! I couldn't believe it. Being a bit of a control freak and a perfectionist, I was a little worried about the vendors, but they were all AMAZING!!! The DJ was fabulous, the food was amazing, our cake was better than any we had previously tasted, and the florist we used was great too! I couldn't have pulled off such an beautiful wedding without everyone there and most importantly, the venue!

As for the hotel, we got special attention the entire time we were there! A special reserved table for dinner on Sunday evening at their restaurant, when we missed breakfast Monday AM, they reopened the kitchen and accommodated us... Just everything was perfect!! I am so impressed and even though we just stayed there late June, we are already planning our next weekend up there for August or September and we will be returning every year for our anniversary!

We booked online based on a review that it had comfy beds. We arrived late to nice front desk staff and an awesome room and yes, a super comfy bed. Thought we were at The Marriot! We liked it so much that we stayed again on our way back through town. Staff was again super nice and the room was excellent again. On our second stay when we arrived in the eve we bought a bottle of wine and a well supplied picnic cooler from the gift shop and walked along the canal and the vines and then had our picnic next to the pool. We had the best relaxing time. Will definitely be back and will recommend to our friends. Aloha.

We were only in Palisade for a short night, but this was a lovely, cozy hotel. We would definitely return and stay again.

Sadly, we missed the 1-hr afternoon wine tasting, which I had really looked forward to.

Everything was clean and our room was quiet.

They give you the option of a view of pool vs. vineyards. We chose vineyards, but pool would have been nice, too.

This was our second and last time staying at the Wine Country Inn. We have always found it to be a very quiet and clean hotel. However, both times we have been very disappointed with the staff and the breakfast. All of the staff we encountered on have no customer service skills and appear put-out at having to deal with customers. On both trips we found the breakfast to be unacceptable. The eggs were watery and the pancakes and hash browns had been sitting in the steamer so long that they were soggy. Also, there were several steam trays that were empty and no staff around to refresh the food. It appears that the hotel is not doing well and is operating with minimum staff. The poor morale of the staff is evident and really detracts from atmosphere of this hotel. I would suggest staying somewhere else.

Room Tip: Ask for a South facing room.

Those were the words our daughter used to describe her recent wedding held at the Wine Country Inn. It was a superb venue with an outstanding staff. Julieanne and April worked tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect. Since our daughter is in Colorado without family nearby, Julianne's guidance and advice proved priceless as well as perfect. The out-of-state family benefited from having a wonderful place to stay that also happened to be the location for every facet of the wedding. The rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, and the reception were incredible. And what a great value! It was a first-class event made possible by an attentive, friendly staff and a beautiful location. I highly recommend prospective brides and grooms to consider having their wedding at the Wine Country Inn.

There were six of us celebrating a friend's engagement. We rented a limo, did the winery tour and came back to the hotel to check in and have dinner. We came to the dining room about 6:30 and since it was full, the staff offered to serve us drinks and appetizers in the lobby, in front of the fireplace, while we waited to be seated. At 8 pm the server came out and said that we could now be seated so we went in. After just a few minutes, she came back and said she could not only not serve us any more drinks, the kitchen was (suddenly) closing and we could not get dinner. We never received an explanation for this, and when I checked out and asked if I could speak to the manager, I was told he was "busy" with another event. I emailed the manager but did not receive a reply from him. He passed it on to the food and beverage manager, who stated that she was sorry about what happened, and that she hoped I would come stay again and give them another try. You know what they say about "fool me once...." We are locals and will definitely not be staying there again or recommending it to friends. By the way, we finally got to eat at midnight -- pizza delivery.

The wci website is very convincing and tends to suggest their patio rooms face off into the vineyard. Not true, the face the pool. Our biggest frustrations about WCI is their Internet didn't work, we tried on 2 occasions during our 3 day stay to book a massage only to not get a return call.
The staff is quite rude. In fact we had to call back today as they overcharged our credit card for our stay by more than 30 percent! While we were pleasant about this issue the employee named Levi began yelling at my wife telling us it was tough luck and he didn't charge our card so he wouldn't look into it

WCI is nothing more than a glorified Hampton Inn. Its employees are very rude and the facility is not what they advertise.
