“How in the world did this place get a high rating?”
Reviewed September 8, 2010

If you like eating off of paper plates, with plastic forks, this MIGHT be your place. The salsa and chips cost extra. The salsa is chopped onions and chopped jalepenos with enough tomato something to make it faint red, and the chips are RIGHT OUT OF THE BAG, like from the grocery store. The food is pure empty and unsatisfying calories. Some of these "communities" take care of each other with underserved lavish praise, and it seems to me this must be an example of that, else this place would be near the bottom of the heap rather than at the top. Lots of hustle and bustle. As your paper plate hits the table without comment, you will wish you were somewhere else. And if your taste is Mexican, Kip's assuredly is not it.

“Decent tacos, reasonable prices, fun atmosphere”
Reviewed August 12, 2010

Kip's is a cute place with fun atmosphere. The taco meals are pretty good, but I was surprised they do not come with any sides (ie rice/beans). I had the Esteban Tacos and they were pretty tasty. My wife had the Chicken Diablos and they were average. If you are from elsewhere in the south, I would not recommend getting the chips and salsa/queso. The chips are the round type you get at ballgames and the "queso" is also the cheese paste you get at ballgames. The "salsa" is actually pico de gallo, so if you like pico you'd like their salsa. We did not try the elk or buffalo burgers so can't comment on them. Overall I'd recommend Kip's as a good experience.

“Great Shrimp Tacos”
Reviewed August 11, 2010

We've been coming to Pagosa for several years, but this was our first trip to Kip's and now we're sorry we waited so long. It's a great little place to sit outside, drink a beer and watch the world go by. The waitress recommended the daily special, spicy shrimp tacos, and they were great. My husband had the fish tacos and he enjoyed them as well. Their salsa was fresh and delicious, chips were a slight disappointment. We had a coupon for free ones or wouldn't have gotten them. We also had roasted green chiles stuffed with mozzarella that were very good. All in all, we'd not hesitate to go back next time we're in Pagosa.

“Kip's is Pretty Good!”
Reviewed August 3, 2010

We enjoyed eating at Kip's. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that they had a sign out saying that they had entertainment at 6pm and there wasn't any.
The poppers were great, salsa was fresh and tacos were filling.

“Good Tacos.... But What's All the Fuss About?”
Reviewed July 31, 2010

The food was good..... very spicy to me. The place was crowded, so the service was slow, however the server did apologize. Great one-man band to help the time fly..... we chose this place to eat because Tripadvisor rated it the best place to eat in Pagosa...... but I am not so sure about that!
