We have stayed here once during the summer (Aug '12) and once during SpringBreak (Mar '14). Both stays have been exceptional. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation with wonderful accomodations, this place is for you. We have stayed in a 2 bedroom and also in a 1 bedroom that had a pull out bed in the living room for our kids. Both were equally pleasant. The way they have everything set up so that they don't come in your cabin during your stay is nice. It gives you a bit more privacy. Wonderful family friendly property. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed here for our 1 year anniversary and could not have been more impressed. The cabins are very well maintained, clean, and each one of them have just about everything inside that you could wish for. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Our dog loved romping around the grounds, in and out of the river. The price is right, and the location is unbeatable! We will be coming back.

Our three night stay at the Fireside Inn was definitely one of the highlights of our trip out West. The cabin was neat as a pin, comfortable, and had everything one needs. If you decide to stay home and cook, there are barbeque grills or small kitchens fully equipped with a stove, and microwave. The setting along the tumbling river only adds to ambiance. There are several places along the river to sit and read or just enjoy the beauty. Of course, the front porch of the cabin was one of the best places! The town of Pagosa Springs is very close, but yet far enough away... Many places to eat and shop and the food is varied and everywhere we went, we enjoyed our meals. There is something to do for everyone: Hiking, horseback riding, river rafting, and of course, the hot springs. The owners bend over backwards to make sure your stay is enjoyable. We brought our dog, a weimaraner, and she loved it.. very easy and well equipped for our canine friends! Oh... by the way, the beds are REALLY comfortable.

Room Tip: We stayed in the last cabin #109... but all of them are in a great location.

Traveling with a couple that we didn't know real well, this location was a perfect spot to relax and enjoy. We had stayed here before and knew that the cabins are immaculately clean, beautifully appointed with local and indigenous art, fully stocked kitchen including coffee, filters, S&P, plenty of trash bags and beds that are to die for. The trees are full of bird's nests and it is a busy wild life retreat as well. Don't miss an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the San Juan River, up close and personal, in a quiet and serene environment (except for the sound of rushing waters and busy birds!) BTW, we bought organic meat & cheese at the James Ranch in Durango before arriving so cooking out was fun too.

Room Tip: We requested "on the river" and it was a spectacular location but the cabins close by have...

These folks get the concept of CLEAN. Great cabins!
Nice folks and a great location.
I would recommend it to anyone. Excellent value all round , warm and cozy! Plan on coming back with the family to enjoy Pagosa. Much better value than the Springs. Only two minutes to all the action.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin next to the river during the New Years holiday. It was very nice, clean and quiet. We bought tickets to the Hot Springs at a discount from the front office and they supplied us with towels (you have to rent them at the Hot Springs). Fairly short drive up to Wolf Creek Ski Area since it's not in the middle of town which is a plus. Nice hot tub that we got all to ourselves as well. The Wifi didn't work very well inside the cabin but it worked well on the porch. Great family trip.

We stayed March 10-14 with our 3 teenage boys in a 2 bedroom cabin with futon in the living room. Cabin was cute & clean. We enjoyed the location on the river, quick drive into Pagosa and an easy drive early in the morning to hit the slopes at Wolf Creek. We arrived early, they accomodated us and were able to get our cabin ready. Friendly managers.

Room Tip: We were in 205, back corner cabin, close to the river & away from the road.
