I love staying here. The number and variety of pools is fantastic, with 24-hour access to the springs. There are 20 to 30 pools -- you can always get a pool to yourself at night -- with a range of temperatures, some almost too hot to sit in (111F), some perfect to sit in for hours (104F), and river access for a cold splash. The pools are arrayed in tiers along the river in a variety of shapes and many bedecked with waterfalls flowing over organically shaped mineral deposits that have clearly been allowed to grow for years. These are real, untreated springs with high mineral content and high flow through each pool. It's not a wild hot spring, but if you combine Wolf Creek Pass skiing (or snowshoeing or any number of summertime outdoor activities), a few good restaurants and bakeries in easy strolling distance, a clean, comfortable room to head back to, and pool access on the day you leave so you can soak before sitting in the car after your last day on the slopes, you've got my favorite kind of small vacation destination with lovely local flavor.
Beds were not extremely firm, but reasonably so. Rooms are sparklingly clean.
My favorite thing about the rooms (even the "cheap" ones) is that they provide three pillows per person, each one of a different firmness. :)More
