We stopped at the falls on our way home from Pagosa...what a wonderful way to end our weekend escape! We didn't have the time to climb the trail, but we did get out and walk along part of the stream to take some photos. An added plus- we were delightfully entertained by the antics of a huge group of chipmunks!

This is a great little hike that is conveniently right on the highway north of Pagosa Springs. The short hike is fairly easy but does involve some change of elevation. The view of the falls is spectacular. We were there in the autumn and the change of season was dramatic. This is an easy way to experience what Colorado is all about.

About 20 minutes north of Pagosa Springs, this high falls is right off the road. There is a trail to better views, but it was closed when we were there. The fall foliage was spectacular in the pass just north of the falls.

A beautiful site. We walked to the bridge near the falls. A great photo opt! Would have gone all the way to the top but there were seversl individuals there and we needed to drive on. We were told it was a 1/4 mile hike but the trail is zig zag so probabably a little farther. Surface of the trail is not paved just simply as nature presents itself. The climb is UP to the falls and well worth the hike, simply gorgeous. The drive to and from the falls was a breathtaking mountain and valley drive. We drove farther east, simply beautiful!

This is a very pretty stop off spot with a nice short walk from the parking lot up to two different viewing points for the falls. Unfortunately we were there in a downpour, as I expect the panoramic views on a clear day are amazing
