“Nice climb”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

The trail up was a nice climb. There used to be restrooms at the site but they have been removed. Saw one hiker with toilet paper, she must have found a stump. No trash was seen on the trail and view was great.

“Aweinspiring”

Amazing height of water spilling over the top and an easy trail to have a view at the top. A walking stick sure helps those who can run it.

“Fun, though with some steep drop offs....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

Right off the highway, with interpretive signs (including how this is the starting point of the Colorado River ... hard to imagine!). A short .25 mile walk up with some optional detours. Relaxing & easy for kids to negotiate, but beware -- there are some steep drop offs where you'd definitely want to make sure you had an adult for each child to hold hands with. Also, I was amazed to find that a couple of people were allowing their kids to play in the water at the TOP of the falls .... Once bad slip and over the falls they could be ... something to think about before you go!

“A Misty Beauty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2013

I had never heard of this waterfall, even though I live in CO. I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. A short and relatively easy hike to the falls and you are rewarded with a spectacular view worthy of many photos. I believe the falls were in their full splendor when we visited in late May. You can even get close enough to 'misted' by the falling water. Nice and cool on your skin, but not so good on a camera lens.

Treasure Falls is located a short distance east of Pagosa Springs on Highway 160. If you have small children be aware that there are NO facilites at this location. If you hike to the falls in the heat of a summer day take some water. There is plenty of shade but no drinking fountains.

“Nice short hike”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2013

Visitors-family and friends-always want to get into nature when they visit, but aren't necessarily wanting to hike for miles. Treasure Falls is an easy drive, with a nice view from the parking lot with NO walking. With a short uphill hike on switchbacks, you can get right up to the base of the falls. Great for kids.
