Arrived at Elk Trace after a long drive from Sedona. Host had asked if we minded staying in the lodge suite to accommodate the guests in the cabin that had 4 horses that wanted to stay an extra day. The suite was extra large, with an adjacent room with large tv. My wife really enjoyed the hot tub being convenient just down the hall. Evelyn and Tom really made you feel at home and welcome. The second day we took a hike over the back of the property to the top of the ridge, where you could look down over the lakes and western section of Sedona, We share the hike with 14 turkeys, a dozen deer, a marmot, and some raven's.

Great place to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Room Tip: All the rooms have something different to offer. The cabin is separate, but close. The suite has the hot tub and swimming against a current on the same floor.

You drive up this mile long dirt/gravel road and arrive at one of the most beautiful B&B homes we have ever had the pleasure to stay. The high end decor is beautiful and their home is spotless. The owner Evelyn obviously spent a lot of time designing her dream home. It is warm and welcoming as are both Evelyn and Tom. Our room was very nice with a large bath with double copper sinks (double sinks always go over well with us!). Tom & Evelyn have cattle, horses and two dogs and do most of the work themselves ... Not sure how they find the time or energy to provide keep up with all of their guests but they do and they do a great job! Thanks so much, Evelyn & Tom for opening up your home to us at the last minute and going all out to make sure that we were comfortable. Loved our stay and conversations!

This bed and breakfast located just a little bit north of downtown Pagosa Springs was everything one could ask for for a Pagosa getaway. This is a beautiful expansive southwest ranch style home situated on over 60 plus acres of mountain views, woods and pasture. The interior was absolutely beautiful and immaculate. The entire home was full of windows (many two stories high) giving advantage to every side of their property. Their wrap-around deck with chairs/grill, etc. on three sides gave one plenty of space to spend time outside and enjoy the serene views. Our bedroom (The Elk) had 7 huge windows giving the pasture and woods views. The bedroom & bathroom was the most elegant B & B I have ever seen. Bedroom was decorated with tile and knotty pine and bathroom was totally tiled from floor to ceiling, with wood ceiling, and exquisite fixtures throughout both rooms. They had heated tiles (really quiet) and included an electric fireplace in the bedroom for extra heat-ambiance if you desired. Nice satellite tv and WIFI avail also. They also had a billiard table for use on the upstairs level as well as an entire downstairs area that included a lap pool, whirlpool, dry sauna, and some exercise equipment. While I was sitting in the whirlpool I was able to watch horses run in the pasture because again they had a lot of windows from just about every room. The hosts were most congenial and even offered us an upgrade in bedroom which I thought was very nice. The breakfast was everything you would think a ranch-style breakfast should be. We left their very full and with fond memories. We will be back.

Evelyn's Elk Trace Bed and Breakfast is a premium B&B in Beautful Pagosa Springs Colorado. The rooms are better than the photos on the website. Impeccable clean and tastefully decorated. A home away from home. Thanks for a great stay to Evelyn ,Emily and Tom.

We recently stayed here and absolutly loved it!! The owners Evelyn and Tom are very accomodating. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner with them and the other guests. The property is beautiful. We stayed in the Buffalo room (downstairs) and had two queen beds, our own sun room, dinning area, and sitting room. The only downside to this location was that the bathroom was down the hall, not in our room. It is not in town but on a dirt road, which I think added to the desired secluded feeling. They have lots of wildlife (we saw bear and deer from our room) and picturesque views. We are already planning to go back in the winter to see everything covered in snow.
