“Great value motel”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

This motel is great value. It is a few miles out of the heart of Pagosa Springs, but the location is okay. The service was very friendly. The breakfast was simple, but of high quality and the atmosphere was nice. There were plenty of on site facilities - the hot tubs were great. The rooms could do with a bit of modernization, and it would have been nice to have bedside tables on both sides. That said, this is a very good value motel and we would stay here again.

We have had lots of great people from the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, and even Tasmania this summer. And we have enjoyed every one. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay.
Thank you for staying with us and letting others know you had a good experience at the High

This was one of the highlights of our 17 night road trip. My husband and I stayed in a small cabin that was fabulous. The cabin was spacious for us, it had two double beds, a well equipped kitchen area, a very cosy bathroom and a lovely porch. We loved the decor and the bed was very comfortable. The lodge is beautiful. We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds outside the office, walking around the grounds and the hot tubs looked great.
The breakfast was great. Waffles, eggs, toast, a great coffee machine and fresh fruit.
Our only regret was that we only stayed for one night!

It makes us feel so good when our guests enjoy so much of what we offer. The whole point of "hospitality" is to offer the amenties that make a person feel at home, when they're not!
Thank you so much for staying with us, we enjoyed having you. Come back often, or try a different season-Pagosa Springs has so much to offer, it's impossible to see it all in just 1 day.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with others.

Very friendly, helpful staff! Immaculate. GREAT Mattress. Homey log cabin decor. Beautiful setting against the hill. SUPER tasty breakfast! Hot tub plus sunset in the Rockies = MAGIC! Hiking path up the hillside...energized. Quiet pond with a little bridge to its island, and a wooden swing for two to relax. Manicured lawns and adorable flower baskets on the porches. High quality air conditioning in the cabin that makes no weird noises as you sleep. We stayed 3 days for our 40th Anniversary Celebration, and we have NO complaints, only great appreciation for the perfection they have achieved in lodging.

Room Tip: The log cabins give so much privacy, and your own porch to enjoy reading your favorite novel.

After staying in six different Colorado hotels, my two teenage boys said this one was the best! This lodge has so much to offer and the grounds were lovely and very well kept. My boys played Frisbee on the lawn, and went frog catching near the pond. We didn't get a chance to use all their amenities...they had a wall full of board games, puzzles, and DVDs. The lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Their breakfast had lots of healthy options (hot and cold) and the breakfast room was huge with plenty of seating. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Just wish that we stayed more than one night!

I stumbled upon this place after getting stuck in a horrific thunder storm with my dog.

The rooms are spotless as well as the grounds. I'm a clean freak and I even considered taking a bath. Although, when there's hot tubs under the blanket of stars...who needs a bath!

They have me a special blanket for my dog. When it cleared up we went for a small hike on the trail behind the cabins. Movies were free of charge to rent. It would be a superb place to stay for multiple days. There were all sorts of games to play, catch and release pond, tether ball, swings, fire pit, sauna. Oh my goodness I just lived this place and it was reasonably priced.

Lynn in the front office was extremely patient with me as I couldn't decide whether to spend my money (it is the end of my camping trip and I wasn't planning on staying in a hotel). She also greeted my dog warmly and gave me a recipe to make at home to try and help his dander and stomach. She was really friendly and professional.

I could go on, but instead I'll say...just stay there. I hope to come back in the winter!

We stayed for one night on a short road trip between Denver and Grand canyon. The hotel is right beside the road and felt a little exposed. However the welcome was very warm and we had a good room on the upper floor. Every thing required was supplied. There are cabins/units at the back of the property that would be more private. The bed was comfortable. The small bathroom was neat and clean, but the layout seemed a little unusual as you walked past a sink and wet area at the back of the bedroom to get to the shower and toilet - the areas didn't seem well defined.
Good wifi was available. Breakfast was a standard buffet with some hot choices. When we stayed there was a large family group staying so the breakfast area and spas were busy.
Note that the lodge is a little out of town so you will have to drive in to Pagosa Springs for a meal.
At this stage Australia won the horse shoe throwing competition against the USA. Who's up for the challenge!

Room Tip: Some rooms are up stairs. If you have a problem carrying your luggage up stairs as for a ground floo...

John and I deeply needed a quick and restful get away from Santa Fe. I called, spoke to the owner and booked a room as they were out of cabins--we had never been to PS before. Guess what? 30 children under 10! A massive running up and down the stairway--which was right by our room, the basketball hoop going right by our room until 10 at night. Pounding on the floor above. No sleep or privacy for us at all. If I had simply booked this online without personal contact, I guess I would have just felt stupid for not calling, but I DID CALL and not a word about this massive family reunion and its impact on our stay. Shame on you!

Room Tip: Ask who is there. Don't expect owners to care about anything but filling up their place.

We deeply regret you did not have the experience you desired while staying with us. We recveived your call on the last day of a small family reunion which had booked the cabins a year in advance. All but 3 of our rooms had also been booked well in advance by other travelers.

We wanted to put you in an upstairs room, which is generally quieter, but you did request our only downstairs room, which was by the staircase and near our green belt area where children often play.

Pagosa Springs is a delightful town and a great place for a quiet getaway, depending on the time of year. If you decide to come on the spur of the moment, during the busy summer, you may indeed be here during a family reunion or some kind of special event, wherever you stay.

Always let us know when you book, if there are special requirements or expectations so we can work with you. We always want our guests to have a wonderful experience and try very hard to make that happen. We are sorry that didn't happen for you this time, but hope we can make it up to you in a future visit,.
