“Heaven on earth!”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

We are from Denver and have done lots of hikes even in the winter. This one tops are last! Beautiful drive out to the trailhead and definitely worth it. It's beautiful in the snow and the trail was packed a bit so we were ok in ski pants nd winter hiking boots. Though you could snowshoe :)

“Beautiful Views, Not Too Difficult”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

We have hiked this trail several times, and it is breathtaking -- in a good way! Your hike takes you right along the river, through the canyon. It is not too difficult, relatively level (for a mountain trail) and definitely worth the effort. It is not easy, though. We saw some people heading out wearing flip-flops. It is NOT that easy! There are some sheer drop-offs, narrow trails and lots of rocks. Wear hiking boots or shoes and you will be fine. Well-marked and easy to follow.

“It is pretty for a ways”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Not the best trail in the area, but the cliffs and river are nice. This is a lower elevation hike I would rate just a little more difficult than easy, given the up and down and rocky trail. WATCH OUT FOR POISIN IVY!

“My favorite hike in Pagosa Springs”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

I love how this trail follows the river. There's so much to look at as each bend changes the scenery. It's also nice that it's not one of those trails that just keeps going up, up, and up. It has an even amount of ups and downs.

“Beautiful!”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

This is God's Country! It is a breathtaking trail. We were too early to see the falls along the river as it was still frozen but it was still gorgeous. We've been meaning to go again. Maybe we'll catch the fall colors soon.
