“Rocky Mountain Wildlife Park.”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

On our visit for a week to Pagosa Springs, we visited the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Park. We were there for three hours as we stayed for the feeding of these majestic animals. We were amazed as how little they charge considering the amount of food it takes to run this place. ALL the people that work there are truly involved both physically and emotionally. The people in the office have a few small animals there and take care of them with such love. While there we saw a girl that runs the register bring back a bearded dragon as the sun had gone down.

I can't say enough about the lady feeding them. She was patient and compassionate as she told us about each section of animals she was feeding. I think her name was Ivette.

Again, kudos to your city. We hope this place can get recognition and continued donations from people as we know the entrance fee does not cover it.

Thank you for making a great experience for us. If we didn't write to the proper place, please let me know and we will send another letter.

Thank You,
Mr. & Mrs. Gonzalez

“Wildlife Care Givers”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

If you stop, I would highly recommend going for the 4:00pm feeding where you get to see all the wildlife close and moving since they know it is feeding time and move forward to the guide who feeds them. Out tour guide/feeder was very knowledgeable about the animals, too. I would say that I was never able to observe so closely wolves, a bobcat, and a mountain lion here at the park rather than in a zoo. The Grizzly was active too. The park gift shop and exhibit area were great and you could not have asked for a better warm welcome from the owners!

“Great place to see Colorado wild life”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

A great place to see a variety of Colorado wildlife. Try to arrive at feeding time in the afternoon as you can see the animals better and get a narrative from one of the workers about each animal as they are fed. This place also offer horseback riding. I recommend the two hour ride as they take you into a nearby wilderness area.

“Rocky Mountain Wildlife Park”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

We were excited to see a wildlife park which was advertised in the Pagosa Springs brochure.
Unfortunately, the advertisement was misleading in the sense that it did not say that it is an enclosed park with the animals in cages and you must walk through it. My husband is handicapped and we had expected a drive through a park with wildlife. Needless to say we were disappointed and had to pass on the walking tour.

“Nice folks. Interesting exhibit.”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

The park has several wild animals that you can see and observe. Feeding time at 4pm is the time to go. You get to go with the keepers to feed the animals in their separate areas while she tells you about the animals in general, the particular animals they have and what they eat. Interesting.

The most interesting to me was the grizzly, mountain lion, coyotes and wolves. If you're lucky the grizzly may put on a little show for you like she did for us. The mountain lion and wolves are fantastic.

Admission is 7$ each or $6 if you are a senior. Well worth the price. Be prepared to spend about two hours for the tour and feeding.
