Description: As the town's longest running coffee house, Higher Grounds was established in 2004 with the goal of bringing the country's then-emerging craft coffee scene to the quaint mountain community of Pagosa Springs. Exclusively serving organic fair trade coffee, fresh in-house baked goods, and a curated selection of local beers & spirits, we continually strive to be THE destination for both locals and visitors.

Super creamy. Also bought some espresso to take home. Should have gotten more...Cute place for hanging out although we stopped in before hitting the road so didn't stick around. Friendly staff.

If you walked in blindfolded and then took a look around, you would swear you were in a Starbucks but with better coffee. I had a chocolate chip cookie which, like Charbucks, was so-so and overpriced at a buck fifty. Pass on this place and dream of Dunkin' Donuts!

Ate a late breakfast there on a Sunday morning. In Up Town Pagosa Springs. Worth the drive. Got quiche and breakfast burrito. Both were delicious, but the real star was the coffee. The atmosphere is straight Starbucks/coffee shop. It was full of people reading the paper, working on computers, and just hanging out. Even if you stay down town, worth the drive. Not the easiest place to find, so mapquest it before you leave.

Very good coffee and food choices here -- and the small town cafe atmosphere inside is a pleasure to experience.

I need gluten free food and these people bent over backwards to help me. The food was good and prices reasonable, but it's the service that will bring me back.
