“Not what it was last year!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2013

We went to this pub after a good experience last year. We new the wait was going to be long, as it was busy and they have a very small seating area. What we didm;t expect was the service once seated to be soooo slow and our food to be bad! We even heard the lady at the table next to us complain about the slow services and she was told they only had two cooks that night and could not keep up. Our pizza was delivered cold. as well as our daughters hot dog. The soup of the day tasted like it was dipped out of the mop bucket. We were very sad to have this experience as we hope this could be a place we looked forward to every year when we go to Pagossa. I do like there beers very much, but with two young kids, we need somewhere to get dinner as well as a beer.

Dear TexasErickson,
I am very sorry to learn your experience wasn’t as good as your previous visit. We strive to provide the best beer, food, and customer service possible. I am sorry we let you down. Yes, it was very busy this last December with up to 90-minute waits for tables. And yes, the staff could have been a bit overwhelmed at certain moments. We usually have two cooks on-duty, so that is nothing out of the ordinary. But, that is not excuse for cold food. I apologize profusely. I wish you could have brought this to the attention of your Server, one of our Shift Coordinators, or even a Manager. They are all empowered to correct any problems that might arise. The good news is that we are working on a restaurant/kitchen expansion, which should by next winter give us a heated waiting area, more indoor seating, and allow food to be prepared and delivered in a warmer environment.

Cheers,
Tony Simmons

“Great Food & Beer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2013

It's a popular place with fireplaces outside in the snow and warm cozy seating inside. I don't know if they take reservations but they do have a pager system. You may have to wait. The beef & pinto bean-based chilli is fantastic; the hot pretzel and cheese satisfying; the Baja Brats, delicious. All the food our party of seven sampled was of great quality. It was comfort food delivered with a twist. They have a good selection of their own award winning beers. We wanted to buy some growlers to take home but I was disappointed to learn they they sell out each morning and didn't have the brews I wanted.

“Great food...great beer selection!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

This is our new favorite place in Pagosa Springs! The dining and bar areas are small so expect a wait, but is well worth the time. In the summer there is a nice outdoor area for both. The food selection is eclectic and all delicious. There are at least 16 brewed in house beers!

“Best beer and fish n chips in town!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013 via mobile

Every time we visit Pagosa ( which is almost monthly) its a must that we go to the brewery. My husband enjoys trying Tony's newest brew. He usually ends up taking a growler of his favorite home. The wild salmon fish and chips and salmon tacos are excellent. The setting area is not very big until summer arrives and the outdoor patio opens. They stay very busy with locals and visitors are equally welcome. Give it a try. It's not fine dining but it is delicious !

“Down Home Bar”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2012

This is more the type of place for younger people who want to hang out at the local bar and meet people. If you are looking for excellent micro-brews like in California, you may want to pass. The food is your basic bar food with a few specials. It is not the type of place I would recommend for families dining with children. Very nice wait staff and friendly people.

Dear worldsprinter18,
Thanks for taking the time to review us at Pagosa Brewing. I am glad that our staff was helpful and friendly. Regarding your comment about families, we offer many family-friendly menu choices, provide a large outdoor kid’s play area, crayons, coloring books, make our own homemade root beer soda, and provide tours to families every week. In terms of our food, we believe it definitely a step-up from basic bar fare. Everything is made from scratch and we have an extensive selection of local, regional, or wild caught items with no hormones, no nitrates and no preservatives. For instance, our top seller is our Wild-Caught Salmon Fish & Chips with homemade Cajun Tartar Sauce. I would hope that you would consider giving us another try and experience all we have to offer.

Cheers,
