“Just what we needed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013

Found this place and was drawn by the good price and ability to walk wherever we needed to go. The owner was pretty accommodating about our dogs - my wife forgot to mention them when she booked over the phone. We didn't go to Pagosa to spend our days in a hotel, so a 4 star resort wasn't necessary...the Pinewood fit the bill perfectly! Very clean, had what we needed, and allowed us to walk anywhere for dining. I'm booking again in a few weeks!

This is a quaint older motel, reminiscent of the Route 66 era. Rooms are very clean but a bit worn. I needed a cheap motel since its just me traveling for my own business and I don't need much. Clean room, decent shower, comfy bed and a TV. No AC but nights were cool with a nice breeze. Internet not great but available. Some rooms have refer. Great location. Will definitely stay here again.

For a good price, you get a roof, a clean bed, a tv and a bathroom. Don't even bother about breakfast. The staff is kind, but the whole structure is very old. Anyway, a good price for being so close to Wolf Creek.

Don't stay here in the winter if you expect a heated room. The room was heated with an ancient heater and would not heat the entire room. It doesnt have a fan driven system. With no heating in the bathroom, taking a shower is like being in the outdoors. It was freezing. They do provide coffee and small breakfast in the lobby. Room had a refrigerator and microwave but no coffee maker. I expected a low budget room but this was just beyond my expectations. Super clean??? Guess I have higher standards. The carpet is filthy and the room had a particular odor. With no ventilation system in place other than opening the windows your in for a treat. In an emergency it had to do but will definetly won't be returning to this rundown facility.

We have stayed many times at this quaint little spot right out of the 60's, but two changes of ownership in a few short years have not been for the better. Grouting was crumbling everywhere in the bathroom, walls had been carelessly repaired and repainted in a color that didn't even match the original. Sheets were cheap and scratchy, and electrical cords were stretched to reach and outlet.
On the positive side - there were not many - the desk person was very friendly and if you are traveling with pets or children there certainly is not much they could destroy! And there were NO bedbugs (believe me, I checked). There is also a very sweet cat which loves attention.

Room Tip: Honestly, I would continue a little further out of town and pay just a few bucks more.

This is a budget inn, with a helpful owner. Rooms were adequate for our needs, which was somewhere to stay for 2 nights. breakfast is included in the reasonable rates, but is pretty basic, continental style. Rooms clean, and location good, being just a short walk into downtown Pagosa.

We stayed at the Pinewood Inn on our way from Alamosa to Mesa Verde. We arrived, pretty late at night and left early, but the owner was very pleasant, helpful and hospitable. The room was spacious, had a fridge and free wifi. Perfect for a roadtrip stop over. The continental breakfast included homemade banana bread too! We would stay here again.

Room Tip: #20 was nice and quiet in the corner.
