Food: we got sweet potato wedges, which Mrs. Reviewer liked just fine with their mild spiciness and mustard dipping sauce--I found them a bit undercooked for my palate. Also shared their muffaletta sandwhich: decent but not the best ever.
Dessert: "Adult rootbeer float" with schnapps in it--terrific!
Beers: porter was decent, I'd give it an 82. Not as complex as some, a bit thin in mouthfeel, but a good beer. IPA was better, with big citrus and pine notes.
Service: a bit slow, but fun and friendly.
Atmosphere: fun place. First floor is wheelchairable with swinging chairs at the bar. There's a roof-top third level with MAGNIFICENT vistas.

On our September trip through Aspen, Ouray, and Salida, we went to brewpubs in each of the three towns. Of the three, Ouray Brewery was the only one that disappointed. The food and beer were unimpressive, the service was a little slow, and our server was unfriendly, bordering on rude.

Then there was the money-grubbing. The food and beer are both a little overpriced to begin with, but on top of that they tried to charge my wife and I a split-plate charge without telling us beforehand (many places do this, but that doesn't make it right). While we were there, some friends happened along and ended up sitting at the same extended picnic table on the roof with us. We came separately, we left separately, and we paid separately, but the brewery stuck us with a mandatory group charge.

With the fantastic location and view, this could be such a great place! We love Ouray and we love brewpubs, so hopefully they'll be able to get their act together in the future.

Bartender here is the greeter. They need someone new for the front of house. The guy seemed annoyed when we walked-in, as he was finishing his lunch. Then he HAD to wait on us because we chose to sit inside instead of unshady patio. It was obvious to us we had interrupted his day. Doors wide open and flies everywhere. The food was actually very good, however, the cook in back who wasn't wearing a cover over his dreads and hanging beard made eating it difficult--where is the owner of this place? Could be a great place for Ouray...need to work on your customer service and clean up your place.

My family and I dropped into the Ouray Brewery for some quick refreshment shortly after hitting town. Very friendly and hospitable place, nice vibe. We went back the next night for a bite to eat. Their food is very good, certainly a cut above normal pub grub. We had a couple of really good brews -- Camp Bird Blonde and San Juan IPA. The brewed-on-premises root beer is excellent -- my son brought a growler home (and wants to go back for refills). The proprietor and his staff made us feel right at home and took great care of us. All-in-all, a really nice place.

Ate a late lunch here on a beautiful fall day. Waiter (owner?) just seemed annoyed with us and went throught the motions without the warmth that makes a great restaurant experience. I expected more due to the high food prices and the fact that the place was not overly busy during our visit. Burgers were somewhat overdone and dry, but I believe this was because the waiter gave the wrong directions to the cook.
