Beaumont Hotel & Spa

Although there are fine hotels in Telluride, the Beaumont is unique in this area. There are lots of cozy cabins and steak and pizza type of food choices. However, if you are looking for luxury with fine dining and unsurpassed service, you can stop looking. We have spent a number of weekends here and are always so impressed by the combination of beautiful, comfortable rooms, the spa, and the superb food in the dining room on the second floor. They also have a more casual grill / bar on the ground floor. Friendly and helpful staff are second to none. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms, at least in my experience, you may want to select a room on the rear if the...

Down to the last detail, EVERYTHING at the Beaumont is exquisite! The chocolate squares waiting for you in your room, a journal in which to write about your stay in your room, plush robes for the spa in your room, a private hot tub/sauna available to guest, heavenly message therapy give by their own message technicians, excellent service in the ball room restaurants on Saturday nights (ask for Dusty), 42 inch TV in the room WITH DVD PLAYER. The Bluebird Room has the beautiful original wood floors, rocking chair, armoir, wrought iron bed frame, and desk, with an amazing oriental rug.

5 stars out of 5. 11 on a scale of 10!

Go there! Right now!

Room Tip: The BLUEBIRD ROOM--best value! Southern exposure, great in the winter months.

Although we live in Ouray County, distance, deer, and often weather, make it difficult to have a night out in town. So we stay at the Beaumont and walk. The building is like a museum, rooms and public areas exquisitly furnished. Service is impeccable. We've eaten numerous times in the dining areas - the grill, the courtyard, and on special occasions, the ballroom. Excellent service and delicious food. A great place to have lunch with friends or entertain guests. We give it five stars!

Room Tip: Each room is exquisite.

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving (and my husband's birthday) at the Beautiful Beaumont Hotel & Spa down the road a piece in Ouray. Every time we have visited Ouray, we have wandered into the hotel to look at the outstanding renovations, but we had not stayed there until our 3-day trip in November, 2012. What an elegant yet relaxing holiday. The massages at the spa were divine, the formal Thanksgiving feast was delicious, and the staff at the hotel (each & every one) were top notch! They prepared and assisted at a fabulous daily breakfast that was certainly more than "continental." There seemed to be nothing that they would ignore (from advice, to ice). We met so many nice guests, and even saw some people we saw in another place last Thanksgiving (they, too, made the switch this year to the Beaumont). There is always something to do in Ouray, and if one simply wants to hide out- the Beaumont is the place to do it. The only regret of our stay is that we did not get to see the "ghost," but there's always next year!

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side have the advantage of the sun: they warm quickly and you can open the window...

My husband's parents live in Ouray, so we have never had a reason to stay in a hotel when we go. But we decided to stay at the Beaumont for one night to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and I'm so glad we did. The hotel itself is beautiful and filled with history. We stayed in "Sarah's Room" and it was spotless. The bathroom was perhaps the cleanest hotel bathroom I have ever seen. We ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner and the food was amazing (especially the garlic butter that comes with the rolls!). Our stay included a free continental breakfast which was pretty good as well. The only "complaint" we had was that the TV in the room was so low that we had a difficult time watching it from the bed (it was hard to see the TV through the rails on the bed's footboard). We told the front desk about it at check-out and he said that our room was the only one with the TV down low and he would make sure to pass our comment onto the owners. But when you're in Ouray, there's so much to do, you probably won't be spending too much time watching TV anyway! Highly, highly recommend this hotel!

We have stayed at the Beaumont many times and it is always a wonderful experience. The hotel has been beautifully restored. It has a very relaxing and peaceful ambiance. The town of Ouray is a beautiful historic western town. When you stay at the Beamont and look out at the town, you feel like you have went back in time!

Room Tip: All 12 rooms are beautiful.

We slept there one night in September and that's just a pity we didn't stay longer, both for the hotel and the area (can anybody tell me why is this hotel classified as B & B). The style of the hotel and the rooms are great, the rooms and bathroom are big and well furnished. WiFi is free, but you have to pay for the bottle of water (what a strange idea, in our three weeks trip in Wyoming and Colorado, I think that's the only place were there wasn't a complimentary bottle of water). Ok, if this is the main complaint, that shows that everything else was great. We also had a dinner at the hotel's restaurant, and that was great.
