Truly amazing, outstanding accommondations. Well appointed rooms. The beds are comfortable, there is an abundance of very soft, fluffy towels. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Should I have the opportunity to visit Ouray, Colorado again, I would not hesitate to stay at the Riverside Inn again.

Room Tip: If you want comfort, choose the Inn. If you are "roughing it", choose the cabins (which ar...

We stayed one night. Very pricey for a tiny room. Air con barely worked. But it was clean and homey. Beds were a bit hard. Decor was my style, lodge like! A bit on the far side of the north of town. We were so tired from our travels we slept OK and then explored the town and hot springs.

Room Tip: Book early in tourist season. The town fills up fast. Ask were to eat in town or close... good advic...

First, you have to realize that Ouray is the up-and-coming Aspen of the Southern Rockies. They used to mine gold here; now they're plated in it. Nearly everything in Ouray is expensive (though the parking, amazingly, is plentiful and free). So $89 for a bare-bones, make-your-own-bed, clean-it-yourself one-room cabin is not a bit unreasonable. In fact, if you find better prices, you may wish you hadn't.

The pros: The one-room cabin was beautifully clean. The creek sounded so nice. The wood interior was beautiful. It was plenty quiet and peaceful at night. The bathroom and showers were clean and there were enough of them. The shower fixtures may have been old, but the temperature control was great--and they were free. Coffee and tea are free in the morning. Big ol' hairy doggies are welcome. (Bring your own dog bed). You'll have electricity, heat, and wi-fi. It's close to downtown. The owners and staff are all pleasant and accommodating. They listened to our special requests and granted them happily. One of the owners spent a lot of time with me advising me on where we could go hiking, where we could take our dog, where we could see waterfalls and such--and she left us with maps and brochures. We had a really great day thanks to her!

The cons: The pillows were hard and made my ears hurt. (Bring your own!) Those wood cabins really heated up in sun yet had a hard time cooling, so the plastic-sheeted beds made it feel a lot hotter than it was.

A tip for the disabled: the showers and restrooms are not accessible for those in wheelchairs. Even a walker would be too big. (They're pretty narrow). Try a room in the main building instead.

Why not offer bed linens free? Because these cabins are basically like camping. A lot of people want to save the money and use their own sleeping bags. So if you want bed linens, be sure to bring your extra $5 or $10.

It's hard to find clean accommodations with nice staff in Ouray if you're bringing a large dog and don't have a suitcase full of money. I think we did really well by staying here.

Room Tip: Call them up and explain your wants or needs. They'll try to help you.

We spent two nights at the Riverside Inn and Cabins and it was a really great experience. We have two dogs and we were looking for a place that was going to allow us to bring them on vacation with us and this place worked out really well. It was a little bit out of the donwtown area, only about three or four minutes but it was right next to the river bank and really close to the hot springs. They have a hot tub, lots of picknic tables, grills and other areas to relax and enjoy the views. The staff was really nice and the bed was really comfortable too. Pet deposit was the most reasonable that we found as well.

Pluses: A wonderful little dog friendly accommodation! We stayed in one of the basic cabins. Cabins and bath houses were spotless for our 6 day stay. Owners Scott and Lynde and their staff are very helpful and help with anything they can.

The hot tub was nice after long hikes, town is close enough to walk and the springs only .7 mile from the Inn. Fresh local coffee in the lobby.

The pillows were a lacking, but you could bring your own and wi-fi was a little slow, but being on vacation it wasn't much of an issue. Fast enough to stream True Grit (after visiting Ridgeway where it was filmed).

Highly recommend for an economical , clean respite.

The warmest, and friendliest hotel! Our second stay and even better than before! Stayed in a Camper Cabin, was a great deal and very roomy. Loved being right on the river, the bath house was clean and close to the cabin. Going back in June and counting the minutes, love this place and Ouray!

Room Tip: Cabin 1 is great if you do the Camper Cabins, private and close to the river. Perfect!!!
