La Pisa
Ranked #1 of 1 Aniezo B&B and Inns

My husband and I enjoyed every moment of our visit to the Picos de Europa area, and staying at La Pisa added a warm, lovely and delicious flavor to our 6 days in the area.

Our room was simple, cozy and comfortable with a beautiful view of the mountains and the charming village of Aniezo.

John and Gwen are delightful and warm hosts. Early in our stay we realized that we could not eat anywhere in the area that served food comparable to what John could prepare. We requested seafood, as we live in a landlocked state and having fresh fish daily was a treat. John would shop each day for our evening meal, so we were assured of the finest, freshest quality. It was expertly prepared and beautifully presented.

Truly, our stay in northern Spain, and specifically at La Pisa was the highlight of our 2 week visit in Spain.

And their expansive knowledge of this amazingly beautiful area was a huge asset to us in planning our days.
We couldn't have found a better place to stay.

We stayed for 3 nights and were treated to exceptional food and service. John and Gwen are wonderful hosts with a good knowledge of the area and are always there to help without being intrusive. The menu was superb and changed daily - I'm only sorry we weren't there longer to sample more of John's creations. It is unusual to come across such an inventive chef who quietly enjoys his work without the pretensions of many lesser hoteliers. The area was beautiful and a good base from which to explore the Picos mountains.

This is the second year my husband and I have stayed at this guest house and this year it seemed even more lovely than I remember. John and Gwen greeted us like family and made us feel so welcome. The small village itself is so peaceful and tranquil and there are lovely seating areas around to sit and enjoy the views. A bonus for me was the well stocked bookshelf full of diverse and interesting books. John's cooking is really special-beautifully presented and cooked with love and care. One evening, he travelled into the nearest main town (about 6 miles away) just to buy fresh fish for me. The village is also an ideal base for touring the wonderful 'Picos' mountains ans also not far from the stunning coastline and beaches.
A really stunning place. Thank you ! Anne and Chris

We recently spent a great few days at the comfortable and delightfully situated La Pisa. The guest house is very pretty and the location peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed a warm welcome
from John and Gwen who are friendly and informative hosts. The food is beautifully cooked and presented by John, who changes his diverse and interesting menu daily, making use of fresh ingredients from the garden. Delicious!
An excellent base for accessing the splendid walking, wildlife and discovering the stunning scenery and places of interest.
All in all exceeded our expectations.

La Pisa is a superb place to stay, wonderful location, rural but within ten minutes drive of all amenities. John and Gwen were perfect hosts, good company, nothing too much trouble and with an unrivalled knowledge of the region making it perfect for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. John's freshly made, seasonal food was nothing short of outstanding. The room was excellent, very clean and comfortable with a view over the village and the mountain side. A perfect base for anyone visiting The Picos area particularly for those with beginners or no Spanish.

Room Tip: All rooms are peaceful and very comfortable. If you have any special requirements just ask.
