Description: Situated in the Red Rocks country 17 miles southwest of Denver on Hwy 285, The Fort is a true replica of Bent's Fort, the first American community west of the Missississippi & rendezvous of Kit Carson & other "Mountain Men". The nine dining rooms, seating 350, are white plastered over adobe. Unusual but hearty dishes, typical of the early West, are provided from open grills. Waugh!

“WOW!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2014

Just had one of the best meals I have ever had at The Fort Restaurant. I had not been to The Fort for many years. This was a outing with a total of four family members. The setting just cannot be beat. Beautiful fort style setting among the red rocks and overlooking the city of Denver. Very spacious patio overlooking the city. The food and service were just the very best. I had the buffalo sirloin with quail, potatoes and corn. A salad and dessert were also included. The steak and quail were done to perfection. The salad was great and the dessert was absolutely the tops. Plenty of free parking. Please give it a try. I am sure I will be be back again real soon.

“Great Ambience, OK Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2014

When we lived in CO twenty years ago the Fort was our special occasion restaurant. We had dinner there last week and loved the ambiance, the views but felt the food was just OK. It is pricey which we expected but we were very disappointed in our meal.

“Fun adventure, kid friendly, ok food.”

We had a great time at this one of a kind restaurant. The Buffalo Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly and by far the best thing we had. Everything else was ok. I would not recommend the Beef Filet Mignon as it was just an average steak. Very fun atmosphere made it a great time for the kids.

“Best Meal on our Denver trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2014

The food, the service, and the setting were all splendid. Several of us had the Game Plate, which consisted of Elk, Buffalo, and quail - all cooked to perfection. One of us had the Trade Whiskey, made of bourbon, black gunpowder, and tobacco. If you go, be sure to shout the mountain man toast "Waugh!".
