I found this Jeep tour on TripAdvisor after learning that the cog train has been shut down. I did my research and decided this one would get my business and I wasnt disappointed! Our guide made sure we were comfortable and safe, never made us feel rushed. He stopped several times along the way for picture taking, even offering to take our picture for us. We were glad that safety was a priority, he didn't try to "impress" us by taking sharp turns at high speeds. This was by far a much better experience that the cog train (because if youre a 2 person group, you're pretty much sitting on the 2 seat side next to the mountain and not able to get a good view of the lake, town, and trees). I highly reccomend them and look forward to next year!

We had an amazing time going up Pike's Peak! It was so nice to not have to worry about driving and missing the awesome views. Our guide Amanda, knew exactly where to stop to get awesome pictures and was super helpful! I would recommend this to anyone I know that travels to the area.

Taking a Jeep ride up Pikes Peak was a fantastic experience! Kaitlyn was a great driver, extremely knowledgeable, and a pleasure to ride with. We saw beautiful scenery and learned much about the history associated with Pikes Peak. Being at the summit of a fourteener was the best, eating donuts at the top was a close second! Make sure to bring a coat and hat, and drink plenty of water. We went from 60 at Manitou Springs, to 7 at the summit. Clearly our favorite part of our trip to Colorado!

We had family come in from Florida so we decided to try out High Country Excursions. We had nothing but a wonderful experience from start to finish. Sherry was delightful and accommodating. She helped us reschedule last minute with no fuss. Upon meeting her, we were even more impressed. She was sweet, knowledgeable and had the excursion meeting point in an incredible old house! Her candy and trail mix rocked our socks too!

We met our driver Laraine who just made the experience better than we could have imagined. She was friendly and knowledgeable. Easy to talk to, willing to take any and all pictures we wanted and funny! She truly was a blessing! We have been talking about our trip non stop and plan to do it again!

Thanks for being awesome Sherry & Laraine! You both took a fun excursion and made it incredible!

When we heard the Cog was closed, we immediately turned to TripAdvisor for alternatives. BF is CO native but had never driven to the summit-besides being easily distracted! This tour was worth every cent! We’ve already recommended Manitou Springs Adventures to family in the area. Texted w/Sherry and then called to plan which day would be best for viewing. Kaytelyn was knowledgeable and concerned with our comfort. Because the road up didn’t open til 9, Kaytelyn took us through Glen Eyrie(saw big horn sheep very close and we’d booked a tour there that afternoon)and Garden of the Gods, which we’d taken the trolley tour the day before and were very disappointed w/driver’s lack of knowledge. At the summit it was 15*~-5* with windchill. Sherry warned us of 40* temp difference so we brought gloves! I experienced a lil lightheaded-ness in the shop and Kaytelyn ran back to Jeep for my water. She pointed out so many things along the way(geological marker) Thank you, thank you for the highlight of our vacation!

Hey Darla, thank you for the GREAT review! We appreciate you taking time to review us, and for noting other touring options in the area. We try to fill the time with interesting things such as seeing the Big Horns as we can, and glad you were able to see them. It is indeed cold up there, and we try to prepare everyone for the shock of the elements we encounter, that's why we provide water and trail mix to keep everyone healthy along the way. I'm glad Kaytelyn took great care of you, she's excellent in what she does, we think! Please come back a see us again soon, and thank you again to taking time to note your trip to others - it does matter!
