I think the original cook was trained at the Siam restaurant in Ridgeway and Telluride. I don't know if he is still there because the food, while very good, has gotten a little hotter the last few times I ate here.
The interior is nothing special, but the service has always been friendly.

We had just completed an eleven-hour drive from Russell, Kansas to Montrose, checked into our room at The Affordable Inns (a lovely place, by the way) and needed to refuel. We looked at the list of restaurants in the area upon check-in, but nothing on the list appealed to us, since we are vegetarian (well, pescetarian, as we still eat some seafood) and we had been seeking out Thai restaurants on our cross-country journey. We took a drive around town, and found Asii.
The moment we walked in, we were greeted with some of the best aromas, and our hostess/server, Patty, greeted us with a warm smile.
We had the vegetable soup, which is a true delight; the small soup is enough to feed two people, and the consistency of the vegetables is perfect, and the broth is very clear and slightly sweet. Then we were brought our tempura shrimp, which were very lightly coated, and hardly oily; the shrimp were very sweet and fresh. We then had the Pad Thai with steamed tofu, and it was absolutely what we needed! Just the right amount of bean sprouts, egg and tofu, and it was delicately sweet and had some nice crunchiness from the bean sprouts and peanuts. We don't eat a lot when dining out, so we split both the soup appetizer and main dish; we were very full after that! I would highly recommend this restaurant for those seeking delicious, exotic fare for a reasonable price.

Extremely expensive, but the food is great, the prices should include a drink! Very high. Service is good and great beer/wine selection.

What more could you ask from a restaurant? Good food, good service, reasonably priced...but the menus were sticky and the sink and floor in the restroom were a little grubby on our last visit. It wasn't awful and I wouldn't hesitate to return, but that made the difference between an average and a very good rating.
