We pulled off the Interstate (I-70) going to Leadville and on to Buena Vista, CO. We had driven from Moab, Utah, and decided to stop in Minturn, Colorado for a quick lunch. What a surprise awaited us.
First, the service and ambiance were just fantastic, friendly and comfortable. The décor was nice, not over-the-top, very comfortable. Lots of local art and handicrafts, very tastefule. It had snowed the day before, so was cold outside, but, really, really snug inside.
Second, they had one of the most fantastic sandwich selections we had ever seen. So much good food to select from! It made it pleasantly difficult to decide what to eat. The young lady serving gave lots of helpful hints, but, that just made it harder to choose!
I decided to be boring and go for the grilled cheese, which was far from boring, and consisted of very thick slices of bread, several cheeses, a massive homemade pickle and chips. Partner went all out for the “Sloppy Mo”, which consisted of incredible turkey and BLT ground into a spicy, ground mix on a bun that was mouth-watering.
The food was served up in great portions, fresh bread and full ingredients, all fresh and made locally. What a grand feast!
I had homemade root beer and we even snuck a sweet little pastry from their fantastic selection. Friendly and great ambiance. Nice, outgoing, friendly locals. Hard to beat and the best sandwiches we’ve had in a long time. Lovely location up in the mountains (had snow that day). If you're on I-70 and see the turn off to Minturn, take it and go to Sticky Fingers. You will love it!
