First time here, but not the last. Our friends have been there many times. There is a restaurant side and the pub side to he building. We were glad we sat on the pub side. Darker, rustic, small rooms....nice pub feel! The tea pots, water jugs and decorative porcelain bed pans hanging from the celling made for interesting conversation. We found the bar and decided on having the Speckled Hen beer...good choice! For starters we had: leek soup with bread....hot and delicious and the Spinach Rissotto....this too was excellent. The four of us had: shoulder of Lamb, Pork Belly, Moussaka, and the Fish and Chips. The all the meals came hot and with a large side fish of vegetables; nicely steamed and not over cooked. The lamb came with a square of 'scallop potatoes', which I did not care for. The currant sauce was interesting, I enjoyed it. All the food smelt good, looked appealing; and at the end of the meal the plates were bare. A good sign everybody enjoyed their food. With little room left for dessert we shared a lemon tart. Excellent! The cost was just under 100£. A good evening out. Noony our server was excellent, checking in on us several times. We will be back!
