I arrived at Black Mountain Ranch alone, not knowing anyone, and left a week later with new friends from around the world, and memories of a truly amazing adventure. Everything about the week was perfect - I fell in love with my horse! The meals were fantastic! The May Family and the entire staff was so friendly and made us all feel welcome and part of the BMR family. Check out their website - it really is that beautiful and fun!

A bit late...sorry May Family!!! First off this way by far the best family vacation we have ever taken!! My husband, son (14) and myself had a wonderful time at Black Mountain Ranch in July. The May Family, all the Wranglers and staff are outstanding! You become part of the family for the week, and the food is awesome! There is something for the entire family to do and you don't all have to do the same thing if you don't want to. Long rides, short rides, fishing rides, loping rides, swimming rides, no rides.....go shooting instead, or hang out by the pool or jacuzzi. The views are beautiful. We have been home for over a month and we still talk about our trip and how great it was. The entire staff is amazing and truly give their all to make your vacation a memory for a lifetime. We can't wait to return next July!! I searched for months before deciding on Black Mountain Ranch and it was the best decison we made. Thank you May family for our wonderful memories and we can't wait to return next year!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Rock Creek Cabin, we got a workout every day with the walk up the hill. Great Cozy cabin close to the jacuzzi.

Our week in July 2013 at Black Mtn Ranch with our 3 granddaughters was all we hoped it would be. The staff was amazing, the horses were awesome, the food and accommodations were great. The girls got to ride, help care for the animals, make new friends, and enjoy the beauty of the Colorado mountains. We rode every day through the woods and through the open meadows. We camped out under the stars, went on a cattle drive, and enjoyed priceless time with the girls who traveled from 3 different states to spend the week with us. The May family did a great job making us feel welcomed and comfortable at the ranch. We loved it so much that we are returning next year with our son, daughter-in-law, and 2 grandchildren.

I don't do rave reviews... but Black Mountain Ranch is rave-able.
As an Australian looking for a ranch getaway, I was blown away by the experience I was given by the staff and family running Black Mountain Ranch. We were well fed, well cared for and well entertained. The riding was phenomenal. The views incredible. The people - my new family.

I'd turn around and go back in an instant. THANK YOU Blank Mountain Ranch!

We have just returned from 18 days in the US with our 4 'children' - aged 22 to 15. The 7 days we spent at BMR have been voted the best family holiday ever - even by our 20 year old son who doesn't like horses! There is masses to do but no pressure to do anything if you would rather sit back and enjoy your stunning surroundings. All the staff are great fun and really go out of their way to ensure you have a good time. The quality of the horses is very good and they are really well looked after. The extensive May family are all charming and are definitely the USP of the ranch. A wonderfully memorable holiday - many thanks to all.

Room Tip: The ranch is situated on a slope and the rooms at the top of the slope are lovely but you need to be fit to traipse to and fro for meals and activities. Also take some warm clothing as the evenings are distinctly chilly.
