I had an early dinner of barbecue St Louis ribs and pulled pork served with smoky beans, slaw and corn bread. Delicious. On top of that the outstanding root beer float was just special. I ate on the outdoor patio with nice music in the background. It was a most pleasant dining experience as the fall colors of aspen were everywhere. Service was prompt and delivered with a friendly smile. I don't know if there is anyplace else to eat in Marble but it does not matter as this IS the place to eat. I would love to come back next fall and do it all again.

Well, it's the only BBQ in town but it IS really good! And the tiny towns of Marble and nearby Redstone are located in such a beautiful area it is well worth the trip. We loved the brisket and pulled pork platters we ordered and the sides were great too; crispy onion rings, and their special bean recipe. My husband said he would make the 3 and a half hour trip from Denver just for the beans! The young couple and wait staff running this cozy local establishment are right on top for friendly service with great food in a gorgeous mountain location.

If you intend to ride to Crested Butte from the West OR go four-wheeling over the Kebler Pass OR Visit Crystal Mill...plan your trip to this very small town known for the quarrys that provided the pure white marble ( hence the town name-Marble) that was used for many DC monuments..ie Lincoln Memorial, IWO JIMA, etc.

The sole restaurant is Slow Grovin BBQ in the center of town...looks like an old country store with the smoker right off the front porch...no store bought stuff here, you can smell the smoke a mile away. Excellent brisket ,pulled pork ,sandwiches or plates as well as many sides..the onion rings are one of the best of the "large" type we have had anywhere. Great friendly ,fast service at reasonable prices with a nice beer list.

This is a gem in the mountain woods !

Don't miss the two or three marble art + gallery's on your way in or out ! Truly fine art with marble sculptures of all sizes, and very upscale western art . You will be pleasantly surprised.

I stumbled into this place with 4 other starving desperate backpackers and we were presently surprised with warm people, cold beer and great BBQ. Is it Texas BBQ? No. Is it good? Yes! Prices were very reasonable especially for the location.
If you're in Marble and you're hungry, make your way to Slow Groovin BBQ and get fed.
