This was a must do on our trip this year, the cost was surprisingly low and what a bargain. The conductor was called Kevin he was very informative and amusing, The views were magnificent wow you could see for miles as it was a lovely clear day. At the top a little cool but no problem the air is a little thin but it really does take your breath away WOW .

“Up in the clouds”

What a great ride to top of Pike's Peak. Bring a sweater or light jacket as it is cold at the top.
The donuts at gift shop at the summit are not to be missed.
Beautiful views and some history. We really enjoyed it!

“It Sure Beats Walking!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

Although the hike is amazing, if you don't have the 10 to 12 hours to spare, walking up to the summit this is the way to go. It's easy, it's fun, and it's reasonably priced. And it's better than driving, although if you want pictures of a vast open view from different perspectives maybe the drive is for you, as long as you're not driving and taking pics. The Cog Railway is the easiest way to the top, and the top is a must-see! Like everyone else, enjoy a hot chocolate and a doughnut at the small store at the top. Check the weather first though it can change quickly at the summit. Awesome!

“A must do and see!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

This was a great adventure! We were lucky and got seats on the front row going up to Pikes Peak! There are seats that face each other in the cars but the front seat faces a giant open view--Book ahead and see if you can get this seat! The only draw back is the cogway goes down the same way it came so going down we were seeing everything backwards but it didn't bother us a bit! Remember to drink lots of water BUT, I repeat BUT! there are NO bathrooms on the Cog so, pace yourself! lol There are bathrooms at the top and the line wasn't too terribly long- It was a blissful 10 degrees on top of Pikes Peak when we visited and that pretty cold coming from below sea level from Louisiana! We brought jackets and gloves and were fine--You can bring a bag with you on the train with water and jackets for the trip--The trip up and down the mountain was amazing!

“Top of the World”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013

Family ride to the top of Pikes Peak on the cog railroad was excellent. The round trip is four hours with about a 1/2 hour at the peak and it costs a bit over $200 for 6 adults. Even in August a sweater may be needed up top. With a little faster ride up and down and a bit more time allowed on the summit....I'd rate it 5 star.
