“NO HOT WATER_4 DAYS!!”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

I stayed at the Park Row for 2 weeks on a weekly rate. During the 2nd week the water was shut off completely throughtout the entire lodge for 6 hours every day. (During repairs) The last 4 days of my stay there was no hot water every morning until noon. Each time I was told by the non-English speaking proprietor that the problem had been fixed. They advertise laundry facilities but their dryer didn't work the entire time I was there. My toilet seat was cracked and would pinch my skin every time I sat down. They say they have free coffee in the morning but they NEVER had it and are rarely out of bed before 8:30 in the morning. Do yourself a BIG favor and don't stay there. signed: dale@acadea.com

Room Tip: No hot water in room 204

This place is an absolute gem!! It cost 1/3 the price of name-brand accommodations, and was a perfect fit for my husband & l!! We had a room on the 2nd floor, with a balcony overlooking the creek. The evenings were nice & chilly (late August), so we left the balcony door open all night. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable - they even provided a nice welcome kit (with snacks), toiletries, WiFi, mini-fridge/microwave, and complimentary breakfast. The location is minutes away from all the hotspots of Colorado/Manitou Springs (we had a rental car). The owners were extremely friendly also :)

Room Tip: Make sure you request a room on the 2nd floor with a balcony :)

My husband and I stayed here in late July, when it was really hot (95+ degrees). We were in a room on the the top floor. It was clean, but really small, and the A/C, even set on the lowest temperature didn't cool the room to a temperature below 80 degrees. I have a really hard time sleeping when I'm hot, so that may be a consideration for others in deciding whether or not to stay here. It was a good price, though, and the property has character. I think it is a husband and wife who own the Lodge - the wife does all of the talking with guests and she was really nice. Aside from having trouble sleeping in the heat, which honestly isn't a problem most of the year, it was a great place to stay.

Thanks to reviews, we decided to stay here on our road trip. It is obviously an older motel, but did not disappoint. The owner was pleasant and friendly. It is very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The big surprise was the back yard with its sitting area, babbling brook, and lawn area for our dog to play. We had a room in the back and made use of this lovely area. This hotel is very close to local attractions.

I agree with a previous reviewer that this is a hidden gem. When viewed from the street, it looks fairly ordinary. However, it has a beautiful back yard, with a stream, lawn furniture, fireplaces, verandas and balconies, and log siding. Rooms are large and prices are reasonable. It is very clean. On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded, from a room with 2 queens and a sofabed, to a 3-room suite with full kitchen and 3 queens and 2 bathrooms, for the same price as the one reserved room would have been. I don't remember the reason for the upgrade, but we were very pleased with our accommodations. The beds were comfy. There is a continental breakfast in the morning. I would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the back yard, for a better view and a deck.
