“Excellent older motel, tremendous value”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2010

Very clean, very comfortable, outstanding staff, in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance (2 blocks) to Garden of the Gods. One of the older motels in town, but is well maintained and the best value I have seen in a long time. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it highly for someone who is looking for a clean no-frills accommodation.

The staff is very nice here. There needs to be a lot of updates made...although you can see they started, the bathroom was updated and nice. Need new beds, pillows, and linens. Pool was nice. If you do stay here make sure when you close your door you lock it with your key...it doesn't automatically lock. The other people staying at the hotel were very nice. If you cannot walk up stairs make sure to ask for a room on the ground level.

We visited for an entire week Aug 2010. The staff is wonderful and answers all of your questions. The rooms are not luxurious but are clean and the beds and bedding are comfortable. The neighborhood is nice with parks nearby and the motel is centerally located to everything that we wanted to visit. The area is quiet. We had no problems with wi-fi. Our room came with a microwave and a refrigerator. Had a very nice "closet" area. The bathroom was small but clean. Great value!! Nice place to stay!! One note there are not any hair dryers or alarm clocks so bring your own. Oh and a washer and dryer is available for useage. Also the swimming pool was small but clean and is heated.

After reading the reviews about this place, we decided to try it based on many successful stays all over the world from recommendations of this website. The people running th place were certainly nice and very helpful. However, the room was creepy...paper thin sheets and towels that felt like thin sheets of sandpaper. The window AC was noisy and highly inadequate for the room. Thank God we brought a fan with us. The carpeting on the floor was like indoor/outdoor carpeting that needed hosed down. The bathroom had black mildew on the caulk in the shower. The coffee pot was a joke and the mattresses and pillows left images of crawly things in my head all night. Couldn't wait to leave there!

This was the perfect little place to stay in Manitou and it was walking distance to Garden of the Gods. The rooms were clean and it was a nice surprise to have a complete kitchenette and huge refrigerator, which really came in handy. The room was extremely spacious and it was very quiet the few nights we stayed there. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful with tips about the area and very accommodating to our needs. We utilized the laundry facilities as well, which was convenient. The only interesting thing that happened was we couldn't quite get a steady water temperature in the shower (was either really hot or cold at times), but the pressure was fine. Considering everything else you're getting for the value, we would definitely stay there again if we're in the area...we highly recommend this motel! (Oh, there was also a heated pool, but we didn't get to take advantage of it.)

2nd time in three years staying at the Red Wing. Hosts are great and the location can't be beat- two blocks to the Garden of the Gods Trading Post; short walk to the famous Mo's Diner. Hosts are friendly and helpful - will be back again!

50's style Mom & Pop Motel. Is older but well maintained. The folks that run the place are really personable, and accomidating. Park right across street to walk our K-9. Was a nice change of pace, and quiet. Close to a lot of things we got to see and the things we will go back to see because we ran out of time. Really great, we will stay here again.

Thanks
