Attraction details
Owner description: At most museums, you hear, "Look with your eyes, not with your hands." Not at the outdoor exhibits at the Manitou Cliff Dwellings Museum, where you can reach out and touch ancient Anasazi buildings. Explore the authentic Anasazi structures, investigate the Pueblo-style buildings and traditional clay oven, and examine the pottery, tools, and weapons used by these ancient and mysterious peoples. Open since 1907, the Manitou Cliff Dwellings have preserved these historic Anasazi artifacts for all to enjoy for generations to come. Get a hands-on look at history that the whole family will enjoy.

“Great for Adventure!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

Of the many things to do in Manitou Colorado the Dwellings are one of the best places to visit. They are very cordial, fast servicing people, and very clean facilities. I highly recommend the Cliff Dwellings to anyone!

“Colorado Cliff Dwellings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2014

I was a little surprised that this ancient attraction is as open to the public as it is. You're allowed to actually walk through the dwellings, and go inside. The museum is quite interesting as well.

“Amazing part of the western history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2014

I enjoyed walking the cliff dwellings, and it is great that these buildings have been preserved for people to see American history. I really enjoyed the museum that showed the history of people and also on how the area was preserved and who has worked to keep it open. I was very impressed.

The Anasazi culture is a rich part of our history and it is great to see that people can come out and still grasp a little of what life was like so long ago here at the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit. Thank you for sharing.

“Kids loved it! Great history and views!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2014

Be sure to let the kids explore and don't skip the museum. Respectfully done with great historical information. Great spot for a two hour excursion and only 10 minutes from downtown Colorado Springs. If you do the above, it's totally worth the price.

“Disappointing but who am I too Judge ?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2014

I'll be honest , I thought the entry price was a bit rich but they do keep the place well maintained & clean, so fair enough. For first timers this place would be a real eye opener and does give you a good entry into the Indian cliff dwellings of times past. But unfortunately I've been spoilt by Mesa Verde , Montezumas Castle & other exhibits and this was a bit of a let down. Having said that it is still worth a visit if you don't intend to visit the others !! The wife loved the Gift Shop and the Museum was also entertaining but the kids were having fun , so good on them !

Mesa Verde and Montezuma's Castle are truly grand! We are a small group of cliff dwellings with approximately forty rooms, twenty of which you can actually explore in side! We pride ourselves on offering a hands on educational experience unlike that of any other. We are pleased to hear the kids enjoyed themselves and had fun while learning about the life of the Anaszi. Be sure to check on online for discount coupons. Thank you for your review.
